After knocking out Mendoza in 2 rounds, Mitchells promoter Frank Warren stated that they have been given 28 days by the WBO to set up Mitchell Vs Katsidis for the WBO Lightweight title (or Kats interim if JMM doesn't vacate I suppose).

    Early thoughts?

Mitchell's getting better with every fight. He showed he can box against Prescott and on tonights showing he looks powerful and confident. I think thats 31 wins now too so he should be ready for a world title shot.

I've not see much of Katsidis though, by the sounds of things he's a step up in class compared to Mitchell's previous opponents. Hopefully Warren can do the business and make the fight.

mitchell - katsidis i'd say was 40:60 in kats favour. he's improved and gained big fight experience since beating earl a few years ago, but then again he's been in a few more wars since then.

it'll be an exciting fight either way

Mitchell seems the real deal and Katsidis will certainly test him. But I'd go with Mitchell in a decision or late KO.

katsidis is awesome. i think he takes mitchell into deep water and knocks him out in one of his signature wars. mitchell's a little green for a blood and guts warrior with great ability like katsidis.
