These boxing orgs need to grow up and so do boxing fans. The wbo can't order Craw to do anything, he doesn't need them. If this fight doesn't happen then fans can't claim that Craw ducked that guy. If this fight happened without the wbo then what would a fair split be? 90% for Craw maybe, and someone thinks that they can order this bout, nonsense.
Fight could def happen. Fundora is WBC and WBO champ. Bud beats Fundora and he only needs the IBF to unify a 3rd division. That's just 2 more fights and I think Bud stops Fundora albeit it may be a difficult fight as his freakish dimensions pose a unique challenge for all opponents
As long as Tszyu gets a crack at the winner. Why they don't order a mandatory rematch with Tim and Fundora is beyond me. Too many questions need to be answered. Although, I would like to see a Tszyu, Crawford fight as well.
Man I hope this happens. Please get PBC out of the way so we can see the best in the division prove it. Would be a really entertaining fight, and definitely competitive. Bud at 154 is gonna have harder fights, and that's a good thing for fans. Pushing it to the limit.
Nothing not to like about this one IMO. Crawford will ultimately prove too good but interesting to see how he goes about chopping down the beanstalk.
Will be interesting to see how this plays out. Timmy Two Times has made the right move going after the IBF belt. It's the belts at 154 Crawford wants. Going Undisputed in a third weight division is what he's after. Crawford has one belt, if he gets Beanstalk stripped, he picks up another. If he fights him, he can pick up two belts. Beanstalk however has a dance partner for the end of the year - Errol Bung Eye. The WBC love Beanstalk the same way the WBO loves Bud. The timing of things is critical here. If Bud had gone the Team Turki route & faced Vergil Ortiz next, the WBO couldn't have stripped Beanstalk. By getting Beanstalk to make a decision on who he's fighting next, they can. So we might still see Bud v Vergil next - for the WBA & WBO belts. Beanstalk can't be stopped from fighting Spence for the WBC title but he would obviously prefer to hold the WBO as well. I think the timing of things is going to beat him. Crawford has fought recently so Beanstalk has to blink before he does. I'll be surprised if Beanstalk defends against Crawford b/c that's never been the PBC plan. There's a reason Errol was on hand to step into the ring following the King Timmy v Beanstalk fight. It was already agreed that Spence would face the winner.
I figure since he was the champ and suffered a terrible cut in the fight with Fundora, it's just the right thing to do. Give the man first dibs at getting the belt back.
It sounds like they had a verbal agreement on a rematch but verbal agreements aren't worth the paper they aren't written on.
