If Parker becomes WBO champ He will have a number of voluntary defenses from within the Top 15 before facing his mando. AJ meets that criteria - and they will make that fight
I wrote my initial message explaining my position. You weren't happy, and asked me for specifics to support what I said. I gave you a news report. You didn't like that, and demanded a detailed breakdown. I wrote a very detailed one. You aren't happy with that, and so want to change the framing again... Stop acting like a clown.
This is exciting for Parker. Will the wbc, wba belts also be on the line? Parker deserves a shot at the undisputed. Go Parker!!!!
I guess it depends on what happens with Itauma. If Warren wants his boy to challenge for the WBO as #1 contender, I suspect with Frank's influence it will be hard for Parker to fit in a voluntary. Parker v Joshua... well that would be a win for Parker as he gets to rectify his loss (and his and Joshua would make bank), BUT does Joshua really deserve to walk into a title shot like that? I think Parker would lose a lot of good will if he does that. Then again, his two highest ranked challengers are Itauma (very young) and Hrgovic (very unpopular). Still it seems really off to me if they strip the champion because he wants to pursue big money fights, to then turn around and sign up for a big money fight against Joshua coming off a bad loss and inactivity.
Best financially, sure But he already made a voluntary defence of the interim against last minute Bakole. Don't think he needs to make another voluntary against Joshua coming off a loss. Of course, Hearn will bite his hand off, but it would be much better for getting things moving again on the WBO ladder if he faces winner of Itauma/Whyte or Hrgovic/Adeleye. That would be one fight---a "champion's" defence---then of course, chase a pay day with Joshua. No complaints from the likes of me.
They'd definitely be an element of that but even if there was any truth to it, he beat the champion in front of him Gotta give him all the credit in the world if that were to happen
Not with knowledgeable fans he wasn't He was a live dog He has never been written off, more people make their options based on his previous output And with that in mind can you blame them? Your continued unwavering support comes from national pride If it didn't, you'd think exactly the same way
I saw that Higgins, Parker's manager, say that Warren had promised a big fight in the second half of the year for Parker otherwise he would be in breach of contract. I'm guessing they are hoping for the Usyk fight, but it wouldn't surprise me if Warren was going to try be a bit dodgy and scupper those talks to get Parker the WBO elevation to line up an easier title shot against his golden boy Itauma. Warren was asked the other day if he would do Parker vs Itauma, he responded that it depends on how Itauma looks against Whyte, but he would look at doing that fight.
Also this kind of explains why Parker hasn't taken another fight in the mean time, I suppose it would allow Warren to fulfill his contractual obligations with a much easier fight to make against lower tier opposition. Where as Higgins and Parker are obviously giving Warren a chunk of money to try and get into some bigger fights.
It wouldn't surprise me if this was the behind the scenes plan for all of this. Tell Usyk you'd like him to let the WBO strap go so Parker can have it. Usyk doesn't care because why would he. Parker becomes WBO champ. Itauma starches Whyte. You make Parker v. Itauma for late in the year. Then Usyk is waiting for the winner next year after getting his normal 8-12 months off. Personally, some of Warren's moves/actions are kinda confusing for someone who has been in the game as long as he has. Like, he genuinely seemed pissed off that Dubois fell flat on his face versus Usyk. What did he expect was going to happen? Did he really believe Dubois was going to go in there, bully Usyk, and then chin him? This kid has failed you every time you've stepped him up except against AJ and it took an all-time awful performance from AJ. You've had to pull all sorts of strings for him over his career including fixing a fight with Lerena, getting the BBBoC/ref to ignore headbutts and change the cuts to coming from punches against Hrgovic, inventing a nonsense narrative about a foul to take attention away from Dubois quitting off a jab, etc. So this suggests Frank ain't really good at evaluating his talent and/or has unreasonable expectations for them. Which makes me think he'd be dumb enough to throw Itauma in versus Parker/Usyk when clearly the kid needs another year or two at least of seasoning.
Nah , he ducked JOSEPH PARKER , now. Thats the crystal clear duck . He also is ducking AGIT KABAYEL , now and in the future , thats at least very obvious .
