Not sure if you guys saw this news yesterday?. I was on train looked at phone and saw it on Scene's facebook and just laughed. Not only robbed the guy but not giving him the chance to get the win he deserves.

WBO truly are embracing the Puerto Ricans as there champions..

Martinez will face Magdaleno in Mexico..

Politics at its worst, hardly gave Martinez a round in their fight, it's harsh on Burgos but we all know these things happen. It's even worse that his next fight is in Mexico where Burgos fights from too if I'm correct?! Boxrec has the Magdaleno fight listed as being in China! I'm assuming that's supposed to be Mexico City and someone has typed in the wrong button!

Bad that, a re-match is the very least he deserves

Yeah the fight is in China, kind of.

It's actually in Macau (the Vegas of Asia) on the undercard of Brian Viloria's next fight and more importantly Zou Shiming's pro debut. Top Rank are putting on a pretty decent card as a trail run (allegedly) for Pac/JMM V later in the year. It has massive tax benefits for the fighters which is why they're considering it.

On point. I'm not sure Martinez really sells tickets so why not stick him on this card.

That makes sense I imagined it would be for some financial reasons, I thought possibly just offered a lot of money to stage a fight there for publicity reasons or something, similar to Shannon Briggs getting offered a million dollars to fight in Dubai!

If Martinez doesn't shift tickets it makes it all the more baffling that they want to keep him as champ so badly....

This is Top Rank looking to hand one of their prospects a title.

Poor Burgos is getting shafted here. And because he's not a big name and doesn't have a major promoter most people will forget this in a few months and Burgos will have to work his way up again. Or he'll have to end up taking some really difficult fights for **** money away from home.

The Top Rank Macau card does look good though.
