Yeah the clash of heads(stop saying headbutt, Torres intiated it) staggered Torres. However, he was knocked out by a straight right. Clash of heads happen in the sport. The WBO is not obligated to order an immediate rematch given the events that transpired. Torres needs to win a fight(like Holt did after the first fight), and earn a rubbermatch. Holt has the right to be able to explore his options. He shouldn't be limited because Torres has a glass jaw and charges in like an amateur; causing a clash of heads.
Holt beat Ben Tackie in a stay busy fight, why should Torres fight a journeyman now?He needs to beat a journeyman to earn a shot.Don't see it.You say he was KOed by a right hand, why did he get KOed by that right hand without defending himself?
Didn't I already say that he was staggered by a clash of heads that he initiated? That's not Holt's fault. Holt is under no obligation to give him an immediate rematch. If Holt has no better options, the fight will happen. If he does, Torres will have to wait. Torres should stay away from power punchers until he can secure a rubbermatch.
of course the fight happened, what a dumb question. again Torres didn't give him anything, Holt fought his way to the rematch and Torres was forced to face him. wrong again, leading up to the Holt-Torres rematch I recall reading an article or 2 where it listed Ortiz and Hatton as possible opponents for Ricardo to face neither of those fights happened, your bolded statement is incorrect and Torres HAD to face Holt.
Torres had him out and was finishing him off ....if it weren't for the accidental headbutt. Sad news he was denied an immediate rematch.....he's a tough cookie...he will bounce back.
Hey I just made a mistake there . . . I should have type question mark like you did . . . intead of an exclamation point. I posted this I'm looking for reactions and comments.
