So is every close fight from now on going to be reviewed? Boxing will become a joke if it does. I went to Vegas to watch Pac vs Bradley 3, I was rooting for Pac then and I was last week when he fought Horn, but the bottom line is Pac lost a close fight. Time to move on. Well, Horn should move on, Pac should retire. He looked a shadow of his former self. He's finished.
The point that no Aussie judges or ref was used screws a really good conspiracy. Not bad trolling, time for the shoulder injury and some salt water to reemerge IMO - that had them spinning for months.
Minority Report on Team Pac and judge them for dropping the ball - ask the conditioning coach why output dropped so much and trainer on what did you do wrong? Would go a long way to solving this situation IMO.
Of course no Aussie judges, it is not allowed to use same nationality as the boxers regardless of fight venue. Besides, it would have been too obvious - espionage works deeper than we can plainly imagine....
this is hilarious. now the other side of the fence is getting outraged its really simple as to why nobody should be freaking out about this so far ive read "bull**** horn won!": Personally I thought the judges did the best they could the first time around. However, I also think it was a difficult fight to score. So I think more judges in a calmer setting should give a more accurate result. "What about all the other closes results that never got reviewed?" : What about them? It makes more sense to focus on only high profile fights because their results have a higher impact. Duh. Think man. its just stupid to complain about this, I could see an argument for complaining if the result would be overturned but that wont happen...
Personally I think the review of the fight should be more on, the ref not calling the 20 or so headbutts, lacing, and the grabbing Pac's arm every time he broke the boxers apart, more so, then the judging. The judging is the judging, the fight will stand as Horn won. I'm ok with that. Horrible miss calls by the ref though. Butts happen, arms get grabbed, lacing happens but not that many, not that obvious. just my opinion.
I gotta say.. From all the s**t that Ive been talking.. I rewatched the fight twice last night. And I eat my crow... Fight was closer than a lot of people may think.. I still hold my view of Pac winning 115-113.. Lots of rounds were close but as Manny being the champ I just don't feel Horn did enough to dethrone him.. I do feel like they underestimated Horn and he was way stronger than they though.. The headlocking was extremely annoying and he should've been warned a couple more times by the ref.. I also still hold the course on my view and case that the 9th round could've been a 10-8 round.. Both telecast thought so and a lot of other writers and experts though so too..But Im ok with the judges not scoring it and 10 -8 round. Even with that I still have Manny winning by a point or two.. So... This is my most honest veredict.. I watched it with both that american and Australia commentary and then with no commentary yesterday. Manny UD 115-113.. Lots of the rounds were a nightmare to score..
The problem with this review is that it is a TV review. The actual fight was judged live from 3 separate angles. Selling yourself to the judges is a big part of boxing. Why don't we review all 4 Pac-Marquez fights. its fine to get a gift if it goes in your favor but not if it doesn't.
Head butts are common when you have an orthodox vs a lefty. I saw the replay of the 6th round headbutt and they both went in at the same time. The headlocks are a different story.
