When did the WBO become what you can consider a legitimate world title although of the four its still considered the least desirable, when did it become acceptable and not an the way kinda title?

At this point I almost feel like it's way more desirable than the WBA. they're ****.

The WBC is actually just as bad to be honest.

Wlad made it important at HW by beign the first to ever unify it, It was nothing at HW until then

As for boxing in general it became BIG when big time us based fighters starting holding on to it

Before that guys like BOWE etc would just ditch it and fight for one of the big three

I remember Benn won it and the commentators stated that it was not recognised in the UK nor allowed

Its still not part of the undisputed title unless of course the guy with it is linear then what can you do ?

Well. It's not that the WBO moved up, the others just gradually went to hell. If you know boxing then you know who the champ is. If you don't know who the champ is than chances are you don't give a damn about boxing.

The fighter makes the belt, not the other way around.

Extreme mundo pointage but i believe i HOF credited i know the wbo was set up by disillusioned members of the WBC and now operates out of Puerto Rico which explains the amount of puerto rican WBO champions.

Uhhhhhhhhh no. WBO didn't become the "fourth major belt" until the early 2000s, and that has a lot more to do with the other sanctioning bodies losing credibility than the WBO gaining it.

I kinda just base it on the fact when Klitschko beat Hide for the WBO title in 95.

De La Hoya had no problems fighting for it.

Collins, Calzaghe and Eubank made numerous defences, the last 2 into double figures.

Juanma holds the WBO title as does Marquez and Pacquiao.

However I don't get the point above that they are better than the WBA considering that Wlad, and Calzaghe for that matter, are/were WBO Super Champs
