He's injured. Will not fight for five-six months, according to Sanchez: "... He had some shoulder surgery and nose surgery. ..." http://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/24506791/oleksandr-usyk-closing-deal-tony-bellew-next-fight
I guess there's a really good chance some are up for grabs in the semis or in the final. Usyk vs Belly (if it happens) is probably for all the belts, and I can see Usyk vacate shortly after, going the HW route.
He's the guy that had the really boring fight with Steve Cunningham on the Mayweather/McGregor undercard right?
Not as great as the first one, obviously, but looks like my man Briedis needs to start planing where to put the trophy.
Actually, the more I think about it the more I come to the conclusion, that it's quite possible, after all. The point is, first, they do not even necessarily need (well, that would help, of course, but nothing is perfect) to have those belts available for the beginning of the cruiserweight tournament. Usyk, after the Bellew fight (let's assume he wins) will go up to the heavyweight, it's almost guaranteed. And I can't see the situation where Usyk is fighting at heavyweight (let's say for more than one fight) and the boxing associations do not strip him. Second, they can just negotiate with Usyk — buy the belts, in fact.
Well, one doesn’t have to look far back to see how things could get complicated. Bellew was messing around with the WBC title around for a while in a similar fashion. This is different since all the belts are there though, so you’re probably right. So long as Usyk moves up in his next couple of fights, belts will be available.
