So did I, I think he'll still be in the WBSS.

But I was just reporting everything I heard.

Yeah it makes no sense not join in, i mean there is nothing to lose, worse case scenario for Glowacki is he loses in the quarter finals, but still gets recognition for being in a tournament of this magnitude, and if he wins he gets the WBC, WBO, WBA, IBF, Ring, lineal titles, 50 million dollars and the Muhammad Ali trophy, i think this also goes to guys like Huck and Wlodarczyk who have nothing to lose.

HBO likes Usyk but I'm pretty sure Usyk does not have a contract with them. Even if he does there should only be slight issues, with potential fights against Haymon boxers Gassiev and Glowacki, but nothing big enough that HBO shouldn't be able to air them, like Golovkin-Jacobs.

I wonder if HBO or Showtime will pick the tourney up in the US. Or if they're aired fight by fight, and both air some.

    Brilliant, let's get this going.

Love watching Usyk operate. This tournament just got that much more epic.

So it seems that the last two will be Glowacki and Kudryashov, the deals have been signed according to Michael Benson.

Time to look ahead to the draw then.

    Usyk will be #1 seed
Briedis / Gassiev will be the #2 and 3 seeds, order is unknown. There is a good case for going with Briedis as he has 3 big wins (Huck, Durodola, Charr) as opposed to Gassiev's one closer win (Lebedev)
Either Dorticos or Glowacki will be the 4th seed, Glowacki has the better resume but I'm guessing Dorticos as he's an undefeated champion.

    Prediction:

    Usyk-Wlodarczyrk
    Dorticos Glowacki

    Gassiev-Huck
    Briedis-Kudryashov

This isn't a seed based matching is it? I thought the top 4 picks the the opponent.

Yes, the top seed gets to pick an opponent, then #2, #3, and the last two are left with each other. I think Usyk will take Wlodarczyrk, etc.

If I was Usyk, I'd go for Kudryashov first. Usyk has always striked me as someone who goes for the best always.

He might be the highest risk, but if he can get by him first, then it'll give him tons of confidence. I'm sure Usyk also wants his chin test (Which he should pass with flying colours). I see Usyk beating the crap out of him, he won't choose Glowacki again since he already beat him. Him beating Kudryashov would probably be the most impressive out of all the options.

    I like your attitude!

I just think that Usyk might be keen to see if Kudryashov can blast out one of his major rivals early. Also I'm not sure Usyk matches up very well stylistically against Kudryashov. Most likely he will clown Kudryashov of course, but Kudryashov's matches are always about who KOs the other first, and Usyk doesn't have the same power as Kudryashov.

Yea Usyk vs Kudryashov should be interesting but I'd prefer to see Breidis vs Kudryashov or even Kudryashov vs Dorticos for all-action fights. Even Huck vs Kudryashov.

Huck can be one of the first 3 seeds, he's a legend in the CW division so who knows. This is gonna be very interesting.
My guess for the final is Gassiev vs Usyk.

    Happy Canada Day buddy

Seedings will consider recent form, I can't see Huck being a seed given Briedis and Glowacki already beat him recently.

Oh of course not, no one in the division has Kudryashov level power... maybe perhaps Dorticos? Dorticos has some serious power.

But imagine if he gets through Kudryashov/Dorticos then Gassiev.

He'd leave the division with 3 great wins right there, that's serious lol.

2 fighters with immense power, Gassiev being a great boxer/good power.

It wont be recent form only. Its a whole array of things. Im sure Breidis or Gassiev wont mind as everyone gets paid the same. Huck is still a name and he probably has the biggest selling power of all. Dont forget this is still a business first and foremost

I think Huck will be set up in a fight that he can win. You dont want the biggest name to fall out immediately.
