Looks like the WBSS 140 pound tournament is falling apart. Baranchyk is pulling out, citing late payment of his money, and the refusal of the WBSS to put the money for the semi final bouts in Escrow before hand. Kalle the Crook or whatever his name is, is saying that the bouts are going to be announced for May any day now. Sounds like bull**** to me, and none of these guys should have to wait until May to fight. That's straight up bull****. If this is the case it'll be a real pity. WBSS has been good for the sport and made stars out of some fighters.
There goes boxings self destructive nature peeking its head out again. Anytime things are going right this sport manages to sabotage itself. Its like Ricky Bobby's father from Talladega Nights.
Got his belt and ran off. But on a more serious note; the WBSS have been rumored to be in trouble for a while now. Makes sense to leave it if there are issues with getting paid.
From how I understand it, they pay each fighter just for participating in the tournament plus bonus money for winning fights. And Baranchyk, as he claimed, hadn't received those bonuses...
