And great KOs too, 2 KOTY candidates Dorticos-Kudryashov and Eubank-Yildirim. Usyk-Huck was really entertaining to watch, Usyk is always fun to watch, Smith-Skoglund is IMHO a FOTY candidate, I was bit dissapointed about Briedis-Perez but it was a dirty chess match that some fans enjoyed. I also appreciated some undercards, with good fighters as Glowacki, Hrgovic, Gevor... And this is just the beginning, thanks to the promoters for this tournament, I think boxing should work like this, the best should fight the best, just like all the sports, if boxing starts working like this, there would be more people interested on it
Fully agree with the KOTY contenders, they were two excellent stoppages, and the promise of some excellent semi finals have not only got me excited for the latter stages of the current tournaments but also excited for the potential of future editions in other divisions. 126/130, 147, 175 anybody? But I've gotta disagree on Smith/Skoglund, it was a decent fight but I think some are romanticising the fight due to the underdog performing better than expected, in a year with Joshua/Wlad, Rungvisai/Gonzalez I and Canelo/Golovkin it doesn't really stand up.
Yeah agreed, there has been many good fights this year, but I think Smith-Skoglund was as thrilling as GGG-Canelo, but yeah, there were many better fights, I was really impressed with Smith-Skoglund since my expectations were very low lol
Can't complain I reckon, I just hope the boxing fans get behind it and support it as it's great for the sport. Seems a lot people just like moaning and talking it down. The WBSS winners will both be P4P fighters, if you don't enter you are suspect. There were brits legitimately claiming Burns vs Crolla was a much bigger fight than Eubank Jr vs Yildirim
