I would never bet on Groves in any competitive fight.

It's always a big if but.. if Groves can get his jab working from the start, control the distance and most importantly control the pace I believe he will win the fight.

In my opinion the Groves jab will determine what happens, if there is no jab or not often enough then Groves will struggle, if Groves snaps that jab out from the start then Jr will struggle.

Heart says Groves. Eubank might be too fresh for him though

Although, cox was all over him like a bad suit until he was caught with that body shot.

He did look terribly ragged against chudinov

    Another 50/50 this one

That's Groves biggest problem he can't control range. If an opponent is determined enough to push him back he doesn't have the boxing skills or movement to actually keep an opponent on the end of his range where he's most effective. His power is what usually allows him to control range by forcing people to be less aggressive or by stopping them when they walk into his power.

But of course it's dangerous for anyone to simply stand right in front of Groves and pressure him, he hits damn hard, Froch found that out the hard way, it's why he stood off and used his jab in the rematch.

CEJ likes to pressure, sets a pace that will undoubtedly make Groves tire out like Froch did. Question is can he do what he normally does and either, one not get hit cleanly or two if he gets hit cleanly can he handle Groves power?

As you say it's a tough fight to predict, I think if CEJ can take it beyond 6 rounds and still be in the fight then he's going to take over and likely stop Groves.

CEJ inside the distance. Groves will go out on his shield.

If JR has anywhere near the same chin as SR then Groves's (Supposed) power becomes irrelevant.

So it comes down to speed and engine?

    Only one winner.....

Has CEJ improved as much as everyone says since BJS?
he's fought Spike O'Sullivan, Quinlan, a seriously aged broken down and stationary Abraham and Yilidrim. These are not top fighters by any stretch!
Groves is in a completely different league to all of them not even close, Spike especially was landing on CEJ frequently and Quinlan had some joy too, imagine if Groves is given that amount joy?

Tough fight to call but for me its a question of CEJ's chin more than anything else, because 100% he's getting tagged and not just once. CEJ's defence hasn't been tested at all by someone the level of Groves

As we get closer to the fight, I'm more confident than ever that CEJ will win this fight. He's the better overall fighter and he's going to to hurt Groves and knock him out late.

Groves is not as good as Saunders and he doesn't have the defense to keep CEJ away from him for 12 rounds. After about 3 rounds, Groves is going to start looking vulnerable. After that, it'll only be a matter of time before CJW catches him and hurt him.

eubank will take over once it gets to the 6th and 7th round and stop George in the 9th or 10th.. my opinion.. but I hope groves wins... it would be justice for the 2 frotch losses... no one in the sport deserves a big win more then groves.. huge fan of his.

Groves can stop JR no doubt.Look what he did to Froch. But I think JR wins on volume and engine. He might have to take a backward step or two, think he might overwhelm Groves late.
