Burnett missed the point of being the number 1 seed. He should've picked Aloyan, then like George Groves said to Jamie Cox, he should've said to his face he's a novice who doesn't belong in the tourney and he wants the easiest fight first.
Yeah Flanagan isn’t great, but it’s not a walk in the park either. Prograis will grind Flanagan down to a TKO win.
The seeds were Burnett, Inoue, Tete, Rodriguez. The fights Rodriguez vs Jason Moloney Burnett vs Nonito Donaire Tete vs Mikhail Aloyan Inoue vs Juan Carlos Payano
Yeah Aloyan has the foot speed edge, he could hit and move and have some success against the fairly slow Tete. Donaire even if he slims down early and comfortably makes 118 won't have the snap, reflexes, or punch resistance he used to, and beating Burnett would be a massive upset. As solid as both tournies are the top four are a step above all their opponents and I'd be shocked to see the first round faves upset here.
Aloyan seems a bit flat footed, and feather fisted. Tete probably boxes him to an easy decision, unless Aloyan ducks into an uppercut. Hard to tell what kind of chin he has. Espinosa tatoo'd him a few times, but isn't a power puncher.
Number 1 seed will face number 3 seed, while number 2 seed will face number 4 seed....so basically. Burnett-Donaire winner vs Tete-Aloyan winner Inoue-Payano winner vs Rodriguez-Moloney winner.
