that depends on what exactly the "Invitation" read. if you "invite" someone to a Party, but ask them to pay 50 bucks for it as well as bring your own Drinks.........it s not really an Invitation, now is it??

it is entirely the WBSS fault that they wont participate.

I don't know the details of their "invitations." Can you fill me in? Perhaps a link?

just gonna dodge the question then? why are there any dangerous fighters in it at all then? and why would they not put one of their own champions in if they're deciding everything?

Benavidez and Ramirez are missing...! Dont really care about the Dirrells at this point. Andre was very good at one point, but his head is not in it anymore( if it ever was...?) Anthony is just not that good.. He is better then the weakest link(s) but he would never win the tourney in a million years...

dodge the question?? it is such a stupid question, i took it as a joke! first off, it is a big Money tournament.......so of Course you are gonna have some dangerous fighters in it?? that is self explainitory. it is like asking: Why fight at all when you can lose??? cause it is boxing and certainly there is an element of danger. but if you are a rotten no good boxing promoter, you know how to Keep the risk as small as possible. and that means: have enough guys in it that you have a stake in and Keep the competition at a minnimum. and that is exactly what Sauerland is pulling here.

and it is so clear, so obvious,.......are you a newbie to this Sport??

its only a stupid question to you coz it contradicted what you originally said. but you said they're not including people like jesse bloody hart coz hes dangerous for his fighters so why would they have better, more dangerous fights than him? still not answering the questions you know end your argument are you? why, if Sauerland are THAT in control of the tournament, did they not include one of their own world champions? and yeah, last 3 years, not that its relevant

I agree. I support the concept of the wbss, but they can't go around callng it the Champions League of boxing if this is what they come up with. It's either a best on best tournament or it's not. Sauerland does have a strong stake in it. Maybe as other promoters are more involved he won't, but he sure does now. If I was Top Rank I wouldn't be enticed by the $25 million total cash available. Losing in the first round is I've read $400,000, which isn't enough for a junior promoter in the event to go wild over.

It also isn't right that the winner of a bout after the draw is granted entry. Doing so at best requires rigging the seeding, probably seeding Eubank/Abraham 4, to make the draw draft possible. And they've broken their own rule of only up to two wild cards, accepting three who aren't ranked top 15 in the division by one of the alphabets. These are actions that would be unnacceptable by the top tournaments of other sports that the wbss compares itself to. Pretty good tourney, cruiser's pretty great despite yesterday revealing its own issues... but till it's proven iself this cannot be called the 'Champions League of boxing'.

In boxing, the best don't face the best. We get decent belt defenses sometimes, but that's it. Unifications are rare and take years and years to build up.

All too often, some ******* gets a belt or two and holds it hostage for years and years, refusing to unify or even fight someone decent.

Now the WBSS steps in and suddenly we're inundated with incredible fights.

They ****ed up the SMW series a bit, but I care more about the trend, and the WBSS is taking us in the right direction.

That's true. I strongly support the concept, and that they only got what they did is understandable enough for year one. The hope is that as it gets more established and makes more money in future years they don't need to cut corners at all. The poster's point in reigning us in from believing it's a solution at this point is right though. The format's finally here, it just hasn't realised its potential yet.

i like it. idk who jaimie cox is but other then that i like the tourney.

look at the match ups were going to have some good clashes. if eubank wins which i think he will he will be in for some good fights. i would like a eubank vs groves. a callum smith vs groves in the finals would be nice.

cant wait to see rob brant upset some body i think he can

Andre Ward has to join this tournament to increase its reputation.
