This just in, the purse bid did not happend between Dawson's promoter and Diaconu's promoters Interbox because Don King want's the fight to take place. According to the contract signed for the fight that was supposed to take place last september, if a fighter as to pull out for an injury, Don King have 6 months to reschedule the fight. Does that mean that the Dawson-Johnson fight will be delayed ??

...so, if this fight happens, it has to happen by the 29th of March, right? Or is it 6 months from the moment the fight was cancelled (mid March)? This means the 12th of April fight, Dawson v. Johnson, cannot happen... ...I am not sure what the WBC is playing at, keeping Johnson, Diaconu and Dawson, particularly, waiting and guessing, not knowing what to bank on...
So Decebal when do you think this fight is going to happen? I hope at least late Feburary or early March, an April 12 fight with Glen Johnson was too long of a wait anyway, just wished Don King adressed this sooner. Since this is in Don King's hands, is this bout secure? Meaning is this fight guaranteed to happen?
I don't know but I would guess sometimes around mid-March. The WBC have mandated this Title fight to happen and said that the two promoters have agreed (Dawson's + Diaconu's people), so I am sure this fight WILL happen. It would be good if the fight happened earlier, say, early February, but even then, I think it's unrealistc Dawson could make his 12th of April date with Johnson. Let's wait for the WBC communique that explains the whole set-up.
