Other posters have pointed out the trouble Floyd will have shoulder rolling a speedy southpaw who throws 2-3-4 punch combinations down the pipe. Floyd has always been susceptible to a good southpaw. Remember for Judah fight for example. Floyd is also the smartest boxer in boxing today and he knows this himself. Which is why Floyd will come out agressive to throw mannys rhythm off. He will get in his grill, on the inside, hold and look for opportune times to trade/put combinations together. He has to worry on the outside, not on the inside. Floyd will bully Manny and eat him for lunch. He will totally frustrate pac. Floyd stops pac late or wins an easy UD decision. Not by pot shotting his straight right like most of you think, which would actually see him get knocked out or lose a decision, but by a game plan most don't see coming, including manny himself. This thread is getting bumped the night of May 2.
He won't win staying on the outside. Doesn't have the legs for it like a few years ago. This is why he's been lifting. Most don't see it coming. It's his best chance of winning.
I hope Floyd tries it! It would be to his detriment! Manny is the one of the most (if not the most) difficult fighters to walk down, pin to the ropes, or bully. He's the polar opposite of stationary. Floyd would be walking into a buzzsaw if he attempts your game plan and I hope that you are right!
how the hell can these ********uals even imagine floyd coming out aggressive yikes) on pacquiao?? when was the last time floyd came out aggressive??
Floyd isn't a ****ing idiot. If Margarito, Bradley and Mosley got their asses kicked trying to go to war with Pacquiao I'm sure he realizes he would too.
He's not "going to war" with manny. He's going to intelligently clinch, bully and fight on the inside. He's going to throw off the rythym of Pac right from the opening bell. Picture Hopkins but with more inside work.
How is he gonna repeatedly come in or Manny to clinch, nevermind keep him close to infight for long stretches of time?
Bradley tried bullying/crowding him and mauling on the inside. If Tim couldn't do it I doubt Floyd will be able to. Its nearly impossible to keep Pacquiao in place for any amount of time.
I truly hope so, and the earlier the round the better. Because if textbook orthodox boxer Floyd tries to trade, Pac's gonna turn wildman mid air punching weird angle Pac. Guess who's punches are easier to read? And if Floyd easycoaster haven't fought every minute of every round for God knows how long, who do you think will still be punching after several rounds? So yeah, maybe... for about a minute. Then Floyd outgunned will go back to a slower pace. But by then Pac will have his rhythm going and will set a frenetic pace he may not be able to keep up. And while Floyd does make his fights intense, the intensity he builds is more on making his opponents fear the counters in a slow boring fight. Pacs intensity is built on speed and constant pressure. If Floyd makes the mistake of starting fast, he will not be able to maintain it and plays into Pacs game.
We are all in for a shock to see how old both Floyd and Pacquiao look I see a Mayweather UD in a slow pace fight where Pac is ineffective then people complaining about the $90 PPV. :hey How two such great fighters could be so unimpressive will blow the mind.
