and you should get that the sport should provide for it's fans, not make us suffer through the delayed gratification game like a priest whipping himself in the back.

It depends how old the fighter is. If he's 24 he has at least 6 years of prime left usually. Even if he's been in wars. So then I can understand waiting.

But delaying fights to build up hype and significance when the fighters are in their early 30's is BS.

To me it's ridiculous to be 28+ and still be a prospect.

I was a bit pumped up ..but I really hate that kind of thinking, I like most of your threads disagree completely on this though.

Oh well we can't agree on everything. I know where you're coming from though, it irritates me sometimes as well. But I'm speaking for the long term effects on their careers. What good does GGG beating Lemieux do now, he got him after he beat N'Dam and Rosado, he should have waited and maybe let David rematch Rubio or fight Monroe Jr. make the fight mean something in the long term, had David tore through a ton of good guys and wreaked a path of destruction, the PPV would have gotten 3 or 4 times the buys and it would have been a better win historically.

How many concussions can a boxer handle before it affects there boxing ability?

If the best upcoming prospects fought each other early in there careers how much wouldn't affect their potential ceilings later on?

Do people really wanna see washed up talents with only 25 years of age due to all the wear and tear early on?

There is a reason for everything...

Yes and no to an extent like May-Pac if that fight would have happen in 12" the build up wouldn'thave been too bad, everyone does one to rush mega fights but they happen organically. Kova-Stevenson if it comes off in Jun will do way better due anticipation than if it came off when first announced, and that isn't even a mega fight.

The actual fight mega fight we are building to is Kova-Ward.

The problem isn't the build up to huge fights, it's acting like every decent fight is a huge fight.

It's never healthy to take damage. But that's the business that boxing is. It's easier to recover and take punishment when the fighter is younger.

Take a savage beatdown at 26 and you probably recover and hold off decline for a few more years. Take a savage beatdown at 33 and it's over. Forget it about, you get blown up at 33 you're ****ed.

Take Canelo for example, if he fights GGG tomorrow and gets savagely destroyed he probably makes a full recovery due to him being so young. If GGG were to be destroyed tomorrow for example he'd be finished.

Take Sidney Crosby for example, check this out: http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/7459581/sidney-crosby-concussion

He was never the same player after thous concussions, and I believes that he never reached his full potential either. It happened when he was around 24 years of age. And he lost a year of learning experience due to rehab for coming back to the game.

I don't wanna see it in boxing either. Wasted talents.

Wythe will never be the same again. Neither will Kubrat Pulev - but I do accept his try.
