    this

I thought the Kirkland or Paul Williams fight would of been good step ups.

I think he deserves a pass for fighting a WW. And Lopez beat the guy Canelo was suppose to fight, that should count for something though.

If his next fight isnt at least a good fighter at 154 it should be an uproar

Unlike jlw/lw, sww is full of talent and top contenders are lining up to fight Canelo, but he prefers to look down in weight. I don't see anyone Broner's ducking, much less an entire division

I dont get why ppl want to rush a 21 or 22 year old fighter? Does ppl really want canelo to be the next vargas to end his career early? I think gbp is doing the right thing and not letting canelo face mayweather. Canelo vs Cotto is the fight gbp wants to build Canelo as even a bigger star and a bigger name and to see if he's ready for the mayweather showdown.

You are not getting the point, he is a Champion age has nothing to do with the level of opp. when you have the belt, he needs to defend it against the contenders in his division, 154 no 140...

Canelo is already 22 yrs old- same age Vargas had when got in the ring against the best p4p of the time, and he gave Tito all he could handle.
I was very excited seen Canelo coming up,then he got his belt out of nowhere and from there Canelo has become the circus of boxing.By fighting Josesito he's losing either way.If he beats him up,well...fighting jr welter, and if he loses...then his career is in trouble.

    tito?

vargas was fighting ****ing prime winky, ike, marquez and yory boy before trinidad. these four guys wouldve schooled the flat-footed and limited canelo.

there is a reason why dlh wont put him in with a guy like trout, who was ready and willing to fight canelo and ended up fighting cotto.

    its because hell be exposed.

there is no justification for canelo to be fighting a guy three months removed from his very first and physical fight at 147...who was muther****ing fighting 140 pound eight-rounders a year and a half ago.

dlh is capitalizing on a "rocky/buster douglas" moment.

i hope the **** canelo gets severely cut and has to fight a brutal war with josesito.

**** that! He is a champion not a contender. Vargas was just 21 and had better competition than Canelo. Canelo has no Tito's or Quartey's or ODLH's on his division today, his "competition" is Lara, Vanes, Dzinzurik, Kirkland and ofcourse Cotto but nothing compared to what Vargas went thru. So by having Canelo fight WW's and JrWW's is just a chicken **** move on GBP part. Might as well not give him the belt they should of just hold off on it until he was really ready to challenge for one.

It doesn't have to be Lara, any top 10 sww will do. Which Ortiz was not, just another cherrypick.

    thats where they went wrong.

when youre the champ you have to fight champion competition which canelo has not.

    hes actually blatantly avoiding it.

victor wasnt even a top 10 at welterweight let alone super welterweight.

this **** is so bad with canelo that you cant defend it.

seriously; vanes, lara(who publically called out canelo even though he is with gbp), bundrage, quillan, trout, molina and canelo goes after a junior welterweight who was fighting eight-rounders just a year and a half ago.

not only that, said jww(josesito) has to fight a fresh canelo after he went through a physical war in his first fight at 147 three months ago.

dlh knows this is bad and bad **** happens to bad people.

He probably was, off of 1 fight (at a catchweight!). But he even had trouble breaking into talent rich 140 top 10, where he could bully everybody wih superior size.

Yep. Chavez was babied much longer, but they didn't set him up with a belt until he was ready. Since then his comp has been legit, and he's now facing the best guy around.

thats the whole problem here. no one would be complaining if canelo wasnt the champ as he could duck and fight whoever the **** he wants...which he is currently doing.

you have to look at this guy as a fade because if he was legit he would be fighting legit competition.

oscar knows better than anyone what he has in canelo and in all likelihood its not much.

my opinion is that dlh is going to go right after a big money fight(bypassing
bundrage, kirkland, lara, molina, quillan, trout) because gbp cant afford a loss with canelo without the big payout(pbf, cotto).

saul has just as much chance at beating pbf and cotto as he does the other aformentioned guys simply because pbf and cotto really are not that good at 154.

Broner never faced the best guy in the division he was.

    Uchiyama.
