I had a double. Kovalev by KO in rounds 1-3 & Barker to win on points. I thought the ref was stopping the Cleverly fight at the end of the third...but no he was helping Cleverly back to the corner!! The ref could have easily stopped the fight at the end of the third. Cleverly was all done at that point.

 

It leaves a really bitter taste, it's either gross incompetence or downright corruption, I dunno. Suspect it's incompetence mixed in with an almost subconscious home bias.

He absolutely stopped that fight but was so physically useless he actually struggled to do it, and in the meantime the bell rang, so he **** out of actually saying 'no, I've stopped this'.

Disappointing to think the uk is a major culprit for this stuff.

 

This. It was bad that the ref plonked him down, but for Vince not to pull his own son out from getting an absolute pasting wasn't nice to see. More blame to be laid on the corner than the ref here for me, even if the ref did sit him down at the end of the 3rd.

 

referees and judges tend to favour the home fighter, wherever in the world the fight takes place. only the blinkered deny it.
