So why did Leonard wait 5 years before making the fight with Hagler?

Why did he make press conferences/huge gatherings just to say no to Hagler?

"The fight with Hagler will be one of the richest events in ALL OF BOXING HISTORY....... Unfortunately.. It will never happen" - Ray Leonard

Why did he constantly retire over and over again even when his detached retina was completely healed after 82?

Why did Leonard wait until after the Mugabi fight to take the Hagler fight?

Why did he say to the press "He's ripe for the pickings, I can beat him now" then take the fight?

Of course Leonard is still one of my favorites and he's a top 14 ATG. But there's too many double standards here bud.

If he does'nt fight to prove who's the best, why is he always claiming to be the best?

If you want to publicly claim to be the best, you have to back it up.
Floyd does'nt, thats why fans dont like him.

    "Fans don't like him"

Richest athlete in sports. Deal with it.

    :dead

Shitloads of fans love him you idiot.

He is the best. Pac just avoided him like the plague. That's why Pac will always be known as a fraud. He's top 90 ATG on my list. He just hasn't done enough past 135. All cherry picks.

I'm not sure if Golden Boy Promotions will back out from promoting the Floyd-Guerrero "Stinko de Mayo Dos" fight because just 2 days ago at Trout-Alvarez Presscon in San Antonio, Texas, Oscar dela Hoya (GBP) said that the Trout-Alvarez fight is what boxing meant to be, "the best fighting the best"...

Winner of Trout-Alvarez should get Floyd ... but ...

True Mexican fighters (those living in Mexico) were pulling out from this "Stinko de Mayo Dos" money fight...

    - Canelo
    - Rafa
    ...

Daniel Ponce de Leon vs Abner Mares saves this stinko fight card...

I'll give Mayweather his props if Showtime themselves announce the fight did over 1 million buys.

Mayweather's last several opponents have been name opponents with a following.

I dont think the name Robert Guerrero is going to catch an interest with the casuals. Certainly not like Marquez, Mosley, Cotto!

It takes two to sell a PPV and I think now even the casuals are down on Mayweather for not making the Pac fight happen that they wont even think about buying this PPV here with Guerrero.

If I'm a casual fan I'd be thinking, "before I had the Pac fight to look foward too that I wanted to catch Mayweather and see what he's still got. Now what do we have to look foward to that I should order this fight? Mayweather just turned down the red head in that Under Armour commercial, the hell with him, he does'nt want to fight real fighters!"

Were the Ortiz numbers ever official?

I dont think those numbers were ever made official just like Pacquiao's numbers with Bradley were never spewed by HBO.

.......and Ortiz has more of a following than Robert Guerrero.

I'll add that those who may have paid to watch the Oritz fight at least had the notion that Pacquiao could be next.
Now, Mayweather's choice of oppostion is up in the air.
    No Pac fight.
He's just said not to Canelo, and he's likely to stay silent on this callout from Andre Ward.

If Mayweather wants to sell his PPV with Guerrero, he better man up and accept Ward's challenge or at least give him a re-challenge just to get his name in print about a possible matchup with a Super middleweight.
