When the casuals saw Pacquiao face first on the canvas, you'd think they asked themselves, Mayweather was afraid to fight that?"

Mayweather can no longer dangle the possibility of a possible Pacquiao fight. His PPV's vs no name fighters will flop!

But Ray did that with his focus on Marvin Hagler. He knew that if he beat Hagler regardless of all the excuses and Hagler diminishing, that it would help his legacy. Floyd has not looked to beat the great fighters, so right there it is different than Ray.

I do not know why Ray had the press gathering in Baltimore(I think it was Baltimore) to say it will never happen. Ego and publicity. I know it angered Hagler. But regardless of anything here and the fact he waited for Hagler to slow down, Ray beat Benitez,Duran,Hearns and Hagler. Those 4 names are ATG fighters and Ray beat them when all were champions and thought to be dominant. He won the title from each of them. How can Floyd even compare to Leonard? And since Ray fought those 4 great fighters, Floyd had the chance to fight an ATG with a title in Pacman and he avoided it using the excuse that Manny would not take the test. Sugar Ray Leonard and Floyd Mayweather are two different types of fighters. Floyd had the skills of Ray but not the competitiveness.

Exactly, and let's not forget Leonard was hardly at an advantage having had 1 fight in 5 years, and 0 fights for almost 3 years! I love how people go on about how Leonard waited for Hagler to slow down, but Leonard was at the biggest disadvantage as he would have had no idea really just how rusty or out of his depth he was. There may have been a negligible slowdown he noticed against Mugabe but Hagler was still Hagler, he was 32, he was still young with no ring rust and ferocious in the ring...and Leonard went from 147 to 160, 2 weight classes to face him with no tune-up.

Is Floyd going to 160 to face Martinez or GG? I frigging doubt it!

Leonard is an absolute legend, even waiting for a 32 year old Hagler just helped tip the scale a little because Leonard was the one at a disadvantage. People who dont' remember that fight do not remember how people thought Leonard was going to get killed, it was called the biggest mismatch ever

And FLOYD fans of all people dare question that guy? What a joke lol

nope is not the best... a heavyweight always is the best.
could bet up 5 mayweathers in on event.
so no point in saying that he is the best! he is just the best for his fans who think that he is "p4p" the fighter with the best skills etc. bla bla bla. just a subjectiv view:bbb

This is why Mayweather's ATG ranking is only in the 40's.

Its the unfortunate prize you pay for prize fighting. 04-07' years of his resume are shockingly **** when we look at greats.

Mayweather needs to stop caring about the 0 after he's made enough easy paychecks, and start going all out for legacy. I would like to see him take fights against 160lbers.
