Very true. But really, what is a ranking going to do for him. he's an ATG, a first ballot HOF'er, a boxing champion, and a multi millionaire and has barely taken any damage. Thats still a pretty ****ing sweet deal.
You know boxing is in a sad state when so called boxing fans say this type of stupid ****. Quite pathetic really.
Becasuse he was too busy fighting ATG's like Benitez, Duran and Hearns all in their prime. something Floyd wouldn't do, despite it being a Filipino midget most of his fans say he would easily defeat, and despite the fact that it would give him the biggest payday he could possibly get.
Fact is that Leonard was a big welter. He stood 5'10" same as Hagler with a frame that easily carried 160 lbs. Mayweather ain't built like that. He came from featherweight up and 147 is his limit. If it's looked at realistically, it don't make sense to be fighting them big *******s. It don't prove nothing but how stupid he would be to risk himself and his life after boxing. Now, I don't know why he didn't fight Pac when it was hot and that will a stain on his ass regardless if they fight later, but why didn't Leonard fight Pryor. He was dam near begging for a fight with Sugar. I'm a supporter of Leonard and Mayweather but I call the **** (good or bad ) the way I see it.:bbb
This again. He didn't fight Pryor because he couldn't make it to Stafford first after the detached retina was discovered. Pryor agreed to a second offer, and they were going to fight in the fall of 1982. He wouldve beat the **** out of him easily and would be criticized today for even taking that fight.
Yeah, he does. He would've found SRL a lot more destructive than an old 140 lb Arguello on his fourth weight class. No mixed bottle would've saved him the ass whooping of his life. Mother****er had no defense whatsoever.
When people say something about Floyd, the auto response these days seems to be to start taking shots at Ray Leonard. You people ****ing stupid or what? :rofl
Thing is with Pryor is that whether Leonard ducked or not he fought Benitez, Duran, Hearns and Hagler - he fought the very best of his generation at their peak or pretty close to their peak (Hagler) and cannot be compared to Floyd Mayweather Agree, Leonard was a larger welterweight but it doesn't change the achievement of jumping the 2 divisions to face the most feared middleweight of my lifetime...
I hear you but I believe Pryor was asking for that fight way before the retina issue. I watched that press conference and I know what I saw. I don't need anybody to explain to me what I'm looking at. I know a duck when I see one. As for Leonard beating the **** out of Pryor easily, that's only an opinion, not a fact.:bbb
