Nobody boxes unless you have nothing. There is no point. 99% of pro boxers dont make enough to call it a career. And then you train like a machine, have to cut weight and oh get punched in the head and body repeatedly by somebody who wants to separate your brain from your skull. And hes dedicated his life to doing that.

So it's already an undesirable career from just scratching the surface. It's mostly a niche sport. And it's a working mans sport. This isn't the ****ing lacrosse league, the golf tour, rowing team, yacht club or whatever the hell these rich people do.

So with that said why have PPV in a poor mans sport. Most people who have tried boxing seriously have nothing. They cant pay for this ****. I'm middle class and the last two PPV I have bought were Kovalev Ward and Pacquiao Cotto. I'm not even poor these days. And even I wont pay for this ****.

    Its garbage and a disgrace.

It's a poor mans sport. Everybody in the media is freaking out because Jarrett Hurd comes from a 2 parent household with 4 bedrooms. Like its weird because it is boxing.

Nonsense. Some of the greatest fighters that ever lived came from Middle-Upper class backgrounds. The idea that boxing is exclusively a poor mans sport is a myth. All red blooded males, regardless of wealth, love a good fight, whether in one or watching one.

It has been overwhelmingly a poor mans sport historically. I do not believe you have to be poor to be a great successful fighter. It's more that there is no reason to pursue boxing if you have money.

Far more poor kids take up boxing.

You can be a gentleman or an ass. Boxing doesnt discriminate. Once you get in the ring skills and ability determine your fate.

The players do not necessarily reflect the audience.

Also, once they get into the top 1% of boxers, those blue collar guys start acting pretty elitist.

Lol, but thats just generalised, theres a lot more poor people in the world in general, of course theres more boxers from poor backgrounds. 95% of the world live below the US definition of a Middle/Upper class background, of course only 1 in 20 boxers come from this background. 95% of poor people cant afford to go to events to watch fights, doesnt mean boxing fans only consists of 5% poor people.

And historically speaking in America boxing has been popular among black, Irish and Italians ethnic groups. Who were all at one point in time "ethnic" americans with less economic opportunity than the typical WASP.

Now with the fall of communism and poor living conditions in Eastern Europe we are seeing them surge in boxing.

Which is because if you are middle class you're not likely to get into a squared ring and do combat with another man for pennies.

Highest cost for pay per views ever and they usually suck. There really aren't any fight that deserve to be on PPV right now honestly I don't think.

Nonsense. The Klitshckos are PhD scholars from a Middle/Upper class Eastern European family. Jeff Horn, Juan Diaz, Jason Gavern, and Eric Molina have been boxing for pennies for years despite having respectful professions, never heard of Calvin Brock? Marco Antonio Barrera? Azumah Nelson? Chris Eubank Jr? Heaps of boxers have well to do professions and come from wealthy backgrounds, yet box for the love of the sport and because they love to fight.

Ward was estranged from his mother and his dad was a drug addict who died. Middle class maybe, but not in the traditional sense.

Loving a good fight and fighting everyday are completely different.
