I think most sporting commentators are extremely myopic and usually have an agenda to fulfil, whether it's name dropping sponsors, hyping boring action, or hyping other events, playing down biff at the footy, etc

What these commentators dont get is if they are not bias and call it as it comes it makes for a more exciting fight especially when its a back and forth chess match. BJ landed some nice blows that just didnt even get mention whilst just about every punch Green throws gets a word or two. It makes us look bias and doesnt make for a very exciting fight when they do it over & over & over again eventually it looses its luster and you just try not to listen to them any longer, well thats what i do anyhow.

In the end they are not going to bite the hand that feeds them, you really cant blame the commentators, i think Mundine set the precendence for commentators speaking out of turn against the home boy in his backyard, Mundine made sure certian commentators were not at his shows due to one commentators comments on air during a Mundine fight. My guess is these guys dont want Green to do the same so they are careful in what they say and somewhat favour Green after all he is paying them, well main event is or whoever but without Green none of them gets paid.

I couldn't imagine listening to fight if Col.:)patsch) Bob Sheridan was the lead commentator. He rarely,if ever,is the lead over heree in North America. He is laughed at here and not tolerated.

The same in USA or Germany don't always criticize our commentators. They just done their work and if you can do better apply for the job and we will see where you guys end up.

I don't want to hear anything bad about the colonel! He has to be one of the best commentators out there definitely more entertaining than the HBO team. Just has that passion in his voice. He was going nuts during the Pacquiao-Margarito undercard when Mike Jones threw like 70 punches in row.

    Insightful, no, entertaining, big yes!

I just hate how he's teamed up with Mario "saved by the bell" Lopez.

Someone should tell the Colonel that he doesn't have to talk constantly for the entire 3 mins of the round. Sometimes its just great to watch in silence.

Question is, who needs to be told what they are watching?

    A. People who don't know much about boxing.:lol::lol:

I like the gossip they bring though.:lol::lol:

TBH you dont want to hear the german commentary. its usually one guy. and he doesnt get excited about the fight and talks in a monotone.

A truely great commentator tries to give you insight to something the viewers may have missed rather than always state the bleeding obvious.

I think you guys hit a nerve with jjamc lol , who wants to apply for his job?

The colonel would have to be my fav commentator, i really enjoy his commentating, sometimes he does talk a little to much but he doesnt anoy me, i really enjoy the insight and listening to what he has to say, beats the sht out of Andy Ramond and Co imo
