But it's not like he played it Welsh - he didn't say, "The name's Bond, Jones the Bond."

Yes thats right. Reykja is smoke and vík is bay, a lot of place names have vík as everywhere tends to be on the coast.

tffp, back when the volcano went off i remember reading that the volcano was 1 of 2, and that the second volcano was bigger than the one that erupted and it normally activated shortly after.

can you shine any light on this please ;)

Yes there is a big nearby volcano called Katla which is feared. I've heard differing opinions and theories. Some people just say the pressure is bound set off nearby volcanoes (they are close), some think they are actually geographically connected somehow. As far as I know Katla is stable.

The most dangerous volcanoes are probably Katla and Hekla, because they are very big and active, and also the fissure Laki which has been dormant for a long time but historically has done a lot of damage across Europe and even the world and caused famines because of its capability to spew out huge volumes of SO2 into the atmosphere. There are a few others that are very remote in the interior.

End of the day we employ all these guys to sit around monitoring volcanoes but it just showed we don't have a ****ing clue as they don't know what the **** is going on half the time.
