We know Pac cant outbox Floyd so what does he have to do to win?

If Pac can't hurt Floyd and/or keep him on the defensive, I can't see him outboxing Floyd.

 

I don't know man, I don't think Floyd is under estimating pac at all. I think he's going to just box the entire fight. But pac will keep coming with straights .

I favor Floyd by a shred assuming he will stick to his game plan. I think Floyd has no chance of KO ing pac so pac has to go all out. Its do or die for both and pac knows he can't out box him.

 

Pac isn't boxing Floyd. So, we can just stop there.

 

Cotto, he's a pretty tough guy.

And no point asking whos last guy he KO'd, ask me whos the last guy he hurt... or put down. He doesn't need to KO Floyd, but he can certainly put him down and make him fight scared rest of fight.

 

Its all about the footwork. Manny dont have to outbox floyd he just need to use is fast and amazing footwork and then his fast hands will do the rest. I said this so many times one of Manny´s easiest fight.

 

If the fight is close, Manny will win because I'm sure he will have the flashier shots and moves. Floyd has to outclass this guy which is possible, but if Manny makes it close then I think Manny gets the nod.

 

Yeah, I think if it gets close, Floyd would be the one to be set up to lose the decision even if he really did deserve the nod. Think about it... if Floyd lost, he would definitely do another fight and that brings in 200 million more dollars to the MGM...

 

This has been answered countless times before but sure, I'll bite.

1. FMJ FIGHTS NOTHING LIKE JMM. NOTHING. Floyd won't throw that check hook or counter jab while Pac is moving in. That's not how he fights against southpaws. He would hold the high guard up and wait for Pac to finish his assault then throw laser accurate punches. Problem is, Pac will be out of his range or punching location when that happens. He was able to throw counters in the pocket against southpaws, true. But Pac won't even attempt to stay long enough for a counter to be thrown. Morales and JMM had tremendous success against Pac because they were willing to eat leather WHILE THROWING COUNTERS and moving laterally out of Pac's left. FMJ doesn't do that AT ALL. He shoulder rolls to counter. He retreats in straight lines. He holds a tight high guard up. Not gonna be effective against Pac.

2. Pac's counterpunching is hugely underrated. Even in his current ring age, he was able to KD Algieri with a single counter left while the latter was moving laterally out of range. Watch his fight against Bradley/Rios/Algieri again and you will see that Pac throws a lot of counter-combination punches. Mayweather hasn't faced anyone who operates like this.

3. Uppercuts and hooks. Although this will go both ways, and I'll put the edge on FMJ in this department. Still, Pac's uppercuts and counter hooks are underrated. He throws this while backing up, stepping one step forward for leverage, then bam! Cotto went down this way. Morales and JMM too. If FMJ gets that false sense of confidence and chase Pac, he's gonna go down with this.

4. Speed. FMJ has been cherry picking slow opponents lately. Among FMJ's past opponents, Pac's hand speed is comparable only to Judah's and he KD FMJ. Pac's ability to close the gap is comparable only to Hatton's, and we all know how long FMJ adjusted to that. Pac on the other hand doesn't move in straight lines like Hatton does.

5. Power. Again I will only consider Pac's post-KTFO6 opponents and they all agreed that they were being cautious because they all felt Pac's punching power and they know they'll go down if they get caught.

6. Maturity, Hadn't KTFO6 happened, Pac will probably be too reckless and get caught. Not gonna happen now. He will take his sweet time moving in and out of range and throwing combinations. Although it may not be very effective, it will still buy him the judges favor as opposed to FMJ throwing one weak ass jab at a time.

I see this as a very boring fight because FMJ knows all of the above and will run like hell away from Pac. Throw one punch per minute and so on. This will be like Pac-Mosley again only since it's happening in Vegas, FMJ will still get the win.

 

He has to catch Floyd cold with the straight left early. Pac is not an inside fighter. He's not a guy who comes forward aggressively the whole fight. Maybe he can force Floyd to be the aggressor and counter him with speed. His best 2 options are to catch him cold or brawl the entire fight. I narrowed it down to catch him cold early.
