As always, thanks for taking the bait. Now to get down to business.

EVERETT “ BIGFOOT “ MARTIN vs GARING “ FREIGHT TRAIN” LANE

Never were there two more evenly matched greats.
Lane’s record was 22-39-2-13 and was stopped 9 times. Martin’s was 20-39-1-9 and was stopped 12 times. Lane was 5’10” while Martin was 5’11”. Both guys shared the ring with a practically endless list of top fighters mostly in defeat. Martin has two big wins over Tim Witherspoon and Bert cooper. Lane beat Alex Garcia.

Let’s make this a 10 rounder. Who wins

Do think Martin wins out in this one, obviously able to get wins off of higher caliber fighters than Lane- And has the much better record all around. Witherspoon was on his way to fight Moorer for the WBO title before Martin derailed that train, not to mention that in the following fight that Everett had, he was actually able to time a good right hand and floor Michael Moorer!

The Garcia win could've been replicated by Martin or any other solid Journeyman, and was- Collier and Dixon stopped him, too (I don't hold the Hipp and Mathis Jr. losses that much against Garcia... Hipp was outpointing Morrison in their bout, and Mathis Jr. was no slouch fighter, either). Could Lane have beaten Cooper or Witherspoon? I think not.

I saw Martin fight both Spoon and Moorer on USA Tuesday night fights. Couldn’t believe what I was watching

They did have Garing Lang and Craig Payne on Tuesday Night Fights. That was a good one!

Bigfoot Martin would be ranked about 9th in todays division
