if only some of the top heavies had some mongrel in them like vic darchinyan.

the top heavyweights (besides haye) have zero charisma, attitude, personality or appeal as people. although we don't need to hear them come out and say they are going to eat each others kids, they could at least show some passion for the actual contest of boxing.

that is the main reason there is interest in david haye. he ruffled some feathers and it may earn him a squillion $ because he is creating a buzz that has been lacking.

so c'mon heavies give us some more buzz hey!

Your exactly right, I have argued this point many times. The average fan doesn't want to see a boring boxing match, where one man is nearly 6 inches taller and superior in almost every aspect, peck away at him for 6 to 8 rounds, until they either quit or get knocked out because they could no longer defend themselves properly.

Fighters like Haye are good for the sport, they have the personality and fighting style to get fans interested again. While the skill level of the Heavyweight division has fallen dramtically over the last decade, so has the lack of personality in it's champions. Most of them are dull inside the ring and outside of it, which is part of the reason why mainstream fight fans are crossing the border to the UFC.

We do need more excitment in the Heavyweight division, but it's not "killing" the sport. Boxing is doing great, but more Heavyweights like David Haye wouldn't hurt.

I like boxers like the Klitschkos, who have great skills and plenty of knockouts.
