I like watching haye fight, he has a very cool style to watch. However, whenever he opens his mouth, i get pissed off an turn off the TV. I have to deal with annoying wankers on a daily basis, im not about to glorify them by watching them on tv.

At least Vic tries to back up his big mouth.

Poor Haye and his broken back can't match that. :|

Interesting definiton of personality...David Haye has trash talked, pulled out of a fight with an undocumented injury and doesn't fight all that often. He is 28 years old and has 23 fights. He is an armchair athlete at HW so far. Wladimir has 56 fwith 53 clear, dominant wins at age 33. The Klit brothers have meanigful lives outside boxing, do a lot to help others, talk respectfully about opponents and most likely will retire with their health and finances intact. I prefer these types over the trash talkers any day as far as personality is concerned.

Pah! Haye may be extremely popular on his home soil, but there isnt that much interest in him outside the UK.

    Zero charisma,personality,ect........ . Its a matter of opinion,isnt it!

A fight fan's cultural background plays an important role whether he considers fighter A to be a very charismatic person and fighter B to be a very dull person.

Do you really think that 63,000 Germans would have paid some very good bucks to watch a primitive fighter a la typical American thug fight a relatively unknown opponent?
German media and tv would probably boycott such a fighter.
Haye would never made it in Germany.

Or do you think that the Klitschkos would be as beloved as they are on native soil back home in the Ukraine where they are living legends if they talked trash, disrecpted opponents, and were not able to have an intelligent conversation?

They would definitely be more popular in America, just like the Brits, we like our fighters with some personality and at the very least funny. Thats why guys like Hatton draw such huge crowds, even bigger than Wlad. He has a personality many people could identify with, he has that "One of the guys" type personality. Where the Klitschko's have very few people who can indentify with them, who grew up in a good neighborhood and have PHD's.

I see your point, punisher, but it is a matter of opinion, dont you agree with me!

I stem from a society where good manners are appreciated and demanded in certain situations. The English speaking world appreciates different values, and so does the Spanish or Russian society. We are all different peoples.

Countless people around the globe can easily identify with the Klitschko brothers.Maybe he isnt that popular in the UK,but the UK is just a tiny piece of land in the vast ocean of time and cultures. And what do you mean by saying that the Klitschkos grew up in a good neighbourhood?
Some of their playmates died when playing with bombs and grenades in the millitary garrisons their fathers were serving the great :nut soviet empire.
Some of their mates joined the mob in Ukraine's capital Kiev-Vitaly once had an offer to join one of those pigheads' gangs there ,too.

You see, as important as the USA and the UK are, more and more fight markets outside the english speaking world are getting bigger and bigger.A lot of those countries dont share the same values.
The Klitschkos are certainly better for most of those emerging markets than a bigmouth like Haye or a primitive American thug who doesnt know how to behave in public.

Well to be honest Punisher you are right and you surely know better American audience than I do. But obvious it would be if they were more charismatic, kinda more effervescent persons. It doesnt help Klitschkos especially Wlad because he is pretty neutral character, he does not cause big emotions way or another for audience. Am I right?:think

Im afraid of that's not gonna change, Wlad is what he is.:conf

Your orginal post was good odo, I agreed with what you said. I'm just telling you want most americans look for in a fighter, and Wlad has maybe one characteristic that the American fans look for, and that is power. He's certainly not an underdog, he didn't grow up in a tough neighborhood, I seen the documentary on him and his brother a few years back, they grew up in a middle class neighborhood, neither Klit has enertaining personality, Wlad's not what many people would consider a tough champion by any means.

I guess the point I was trying to make is, for better or worse the American people will probably never embrace Wlad or his brother, they just dont have that "It" factor a Tyson had, or that warrior mentality Holyfield had, or even enough great fighters around to beat, to at least earn the respect from the Americans, the way Lewis did in the 90's and early 2000's. It might not be fair, but thats the way I see it.

Your exactly right, he just doesn't have a good ring presence and is even more boring behind a mic. I think Wlad will end his career getting into the top 15 greatest Heavyweights of all-time, unless he implodes a couple times in the next couple years, which I doubt he will. I just don't see him being talked about i another 20 or 30 years as anything special, his awful losses will comeback to bite him in the ass when it comes to H2H comparisons.

some of u r missing the point.

it can be said its a matter of opinion, sure.

u r taking haye as an example too literally. its about creating interest outside of the ring and not just in it. people love to see good banter between athletes no matter what sport it is. muhammad ali created so much interest outside of the ring that there's not enough money in the world to pay him for what it did for boxing. just look at the mass army of fans that ricky hatton takes with him when he fights in vegas. and then he enters the ring wearing a fat suit, that is the point i'm making. another example in australia there was a fellow originally from africa and he came out to the ring in a cage and ran around the ring on all fours upon entry. now i realise boxers like vitali and co. aren't going to do this but you get my point.

most of the heavies rarely talk or are seen except fightnight. and the 3 russians seem extremely dull when they do talk.

    odo,
that's rubbish that there is no interest in haye outside of the uk and u know it. in recent times, outside of pacman and co. haye has been the biggest talking point in boxing worldwide(just check out how many topics there are about haye on this site), whether u care to acknowledge it or not.

basically we could do with a few more characters at the higher levels.
