Main straight up in the day and age we live in with technology and medicine we should have 15 rounds of boxing.

I personally think the reason today's fighters aren't as good as they should be is because they don't have to train for those type of fights. In the Golden Era's of boxing all of them dudes could get down it wouldn't have been a shock to see a fighter of Tarver's caliber knockout Roy everybody was hard body and you didn't hear the excuses of the top guy taking on a journeyman because everybody was a contender.

It could be the reason Floyd is so seasoned and he makes today's fighters look average he trains like he's going to fight 15 rounds

I agree...in a 12 round, Frazier probably wins the "Thrillia"

Has there ever been a study comparing deaths during 15 rounders and deaths during 12? Has the mortality rate even dropped since Kim?

At the very least, we should have 13 and 11...that way the likelyhood of a draw is reduced.

I feel you on that main ain't **** worst than a draw....who fights a draw somebody gotta win. If the judges have a draw on the score cards after 12 they should at least have to fight a sudden death round clear the ring and let them go one more it'll be alright but we must have a winner

there is an very good list on wikipedia. it has a list of deaths in the ring dating back to the beginings of the game. and contrary to what most would believe, the number of deaths fom 13-15 is negligible. the facts do not support the assumption that 12 round fights are a way to lessen deaths in the ring.

I'd love to see 15 rounders again, but still, nothing in sports compares to 36 minutes of boxing. Especially during big fights!

We live in the days of a phony pretense of safety. Can the supporters of 12 rounders point to one case where that extra 3 rounds ever killed somebody?

3 additional rounds means 3 additional rounds of punishment a fighter has to take and we dont know the long term effects of that... plus, 3 extra rounds would likely mean that fighters reduce their outputs each round so they can be effective over the greater distance. Most of these guys are at peak physical fitness as it is and arent likely to train for another 3 weeks to make up for hte longer distances. We'd get less exciting fights because boxers would throw the same amount of punches, but over 15 rounds instead of 12. And that equals zzzzzzzzzzzzz
