We will knock down Oscar. We should get Hatton next, and then Floyd: Roach.

“Without a doubt. We are not going to win by decision, we are going to knock this guy out. In history, guys that go up in weight classes and then come back down, get knocked out. Roy Jones Jr, Sugar Ray Leonard, guys like that. We will be a strong 147 pounds, and I love this fight,” a confident Roach said

Roach shared that a proof of Pacquiao’s heavy hands was when he battered his middleweight sparring mate, Aaron Robinson.

“We just finished a great sparring day. Manny just hurt a 160-pound sparring partner with a right hook,” said Roach.

Pacquiao’s main arsenal will be the body shots, which he and Roach had been practicing in the gym.

“His punches are unbelievable. I wore the body suit for the first time with Manny because I don’t want him holding back his body punches. He knocked the wind out of me three times today. We will be testing Oscar’s body out, trust me,” he said.

“Obviously the left hook gets our attention. We will be watching out for that. We are working on getting away from that hook and on everything that Oscar does well. Don’t get me wrong, I know this will be a difficult fight, but we are working very hard,” said Roach.

“Pound-for-pound, he’s the greatest right now. We should get Ricky Hatton next, and then if Floyd wants to come back, we can look at that because Floyd is the best fight for us,” he said. “Floyd is a great fighter, and has a whole different style than the other fighters. Manny’s best fighting weight is at 140 pounds, were going to 147 for Oscar because of the opportunity. A win over De La Hoya makes him a super star, and sets up the Ricky Hatton fight. A Mayweather fight would be at a catch weight. We like 140, he likes 147, so lets meet somewhere in the middle. Let’s see what happens.

I hate Oscar Dela Puke with a passion. I think this fight is a joke but Freddie really should shut up and just train Manny.

While hearing that Manny is working on a concerted body attack is very good, hearing that he "beat up" a sparring partner means nothing. Who knows what "direction" he was asked to come in there with?? Often times trainers will tell partners things to emulate the upcoming opponent, an attack of the opponent, etc. While I can't stand Oscar with a passion, I'll give him this, a flawed fighter "YES". A dumb fighter, "HECK NO". He's not going to dare put himself in a situation where he's threatened for a knockout.

Freddie of all people should know this and he's only throwing this out there to drum up publicity. Freddie does have one advantage in that having trained dela recently, he may know some things we don't know.

But trying to get a knockout would be the worlds dumbest strategy and mentioning Floyd Jr is more hilarious.

I guess theres a reason Floyd SR calls him "The JOKE COACH ROACH"

Quite a goal. I don't see Pacquaio winning the first fight though. I'm not even sure he could beat Hatton and certainly not Floyd.

And yet some people would call him a fraud for fighting all those guys...

If people called him a fraud after fighting all 3 of these guys in a row, then I would hope they would go to the doctor and get their brain examined.

Roach knows what he's talking about for sure and I won't be surprised to see Pacquiao hurting DLH as soon as he lands something big. Too many people counting out Pacquiao here and I'm dead sure if Roach didn't know Pac has a chance this fight won't be on, he knows it will be tough but Pac can fight through it.

No Roach doesn't all the time. Weren't they going to go to Floyd's body when he had Dela PUKE with him?? Hopefully those feeble attempts at body shots that DLela Puke threw were totally his doing.

Wasn't Hopkins done and shouldn't fight no more?? I mean after all this is someone who "knows" what he's talking about and Hopkins didn't just win(a'la Wright fight) but he was impressive in that win.

Dela Puke was able (surprisingly) to nullify Floyd's left hook when they fought. Pac just learned how to throw a right hand the last 3 years. You don't think Dela can't nullify Pac's MAIN punch?? More importantly, can Pac's right hand beat Dela Hoya who as much as I can't stand him still does have a good jab??

I say this hoping Dela Puke is in a pool of his own blood but I'm also realistic unlike Freddie..

Thanks for this post, JonOli. I'm freaking PUMPED now!

I would love to see Pac really put it on Oscar. I like ODLH, but his time is done. And if Pac can do really well, it would put him on a whole different level.

Pac-Hatton and Pac-PBF, those could be some ripping fights if Pac can handle the weight class.

Oh sh*t, that is hilarious! Best laugh of the day. Thanks, GG! :good

I hope you're wrong, but I'm afraid you might be right. I'm sure this is what ODLH is hoping as well.
