boxing back then was boring, the old fight films are a laugh, the fighters have their hands way to low, they throw the same wild haymakers and way to much clutch and grab,no wonder they could go 20 rounds, there really was no boxing ability, back then boxing was more like wrestling

It always boils down to two things- groups of people who can't catch a break financially or socially, and access to good coaching. There'll never be a problem finding people who fit in to part A, but part B will be the variable to determine how many of those guys pick the sport up.

There may never be another golden age and boxing will never be what it used to be like. But that dosent mean that boxing still isnt a great sport and that we cant enjoy it anymore, some of the greatest fights in history have occured from 2000 onwards.weve alsoi had some great fighters come through in the 90s/2000s like floyd mayweather, oscar de la Hoya,Felix Trinidad,Roy jones, bernard Hopkins, manny Pacquiao,Miguel cotto and many more great fighters in the lighter weight classes. Sports change over time and boxings one of them.Sure theres a lot of bull**** invloved in the sport now with fighters over pricing themselves out of fights, fighters avoiding each other, big fights not happening because of simple issues,an endless amount of santioning organisations and boxing politics but at least boxing these days isnt as corrupted as it was in the forties and fifties where a lot of world class fighters were owned by the mob and fight fixing was a regular occurence. If the fans still love boxing they would still follow it in modern times the way they used to and not criticise it all the time because it isnt what it used to be. And im saying this as a fan of the classic fighters and fights

true and that is much more harder than it sounds, but if the top trainers of today, start getting apprentices under them to carry on what they have learned, then there's a chance

:good very very true, and i wish the fans that are stuck in the past, would realize that already. And sometimes it gets stupid to where they degrade some great fighters cause i swear i read in one documentary of the sweet science that was down gradin marvin hagler sayin "I bet my bottom dollar that howard would have him outta there in 4" like get real!! These old timers need to wake up and smell the coffee, its burning
