We will soon realize that Wlad, Vitali, and Lewis were their own Golden Era

The only difference between this golden era and others is that they didn't all fight each other due to various circumstances. Here you have three highly skilled super heavy weights, each of whom I think blows away the current crop in their prime.

It's insane to think that all three of these guys were active at the same time. This new batch is already falling short of the expectations I'd had, and the Olympic crop doesn't even look terribly promising.

40 year old Wlad is a slight favorite over perhaps the best young new heavyweight of this crop who just beat him. That about sums it up.

Seriously, who is out there? This crop is weak. POVETKIN may even start steam rolling people, cmon.

Lewis had been a world champion for 3 years before the Klits even turned pro. They're not the same era. This current HW crop is far superior to the K-bros era, and Fury would have beaten any version of Wlad.

The period between the end of Lewis' reign and Fury/kLitschko is perhaps the darkest time in the divisions history.

While Lewis' era and the Klitschko's overlapped they really shouldn't be regarded as being in a similar era. Lewis' last fight was Vitali, he was an old champ facing an upcoming contender, while Wlad had recently lost and was no longer seen as an heir apparent and needed to rebuild.

Vlad's name should not be mixed in the same breath as Lewis.
Vitali's name can only be mentioned due to TKO^!
All HW Golden era belong to Lennox Lewis becuase that was the last Golden Age of HW boxing.

True, the golden era is ending. Lewis could not hack it in the era of Klitschko and was forced to retire.

I assume you also think Vitali retired because he couldn't hack it in the era of Wilder and Fury. :hi:

The Cruiserweight division today, and the heavy weight division today, will school the old heavyweights pre-2000 with ease.........

lewis era was good, but it had nothing to do with the K bros era - in lewis erathe k bros hid with the unwanted unknown unrecognised wbo title.

K bros shared titles and fights to maintain artificially longer reigns. its the biggest setup ever in boxing history. This is not to say they were bad, but their time is a verydifferent era to lewis on all terms.
