SRL decked Benitez with a jab. Wilfred could certainly take it downstairs, but his chin was something else. Don Curry got as far as he did in large part by using his legs to avoid punishment. Howard Davis Jr. got floored early, and outslugged by Vilomar Fernandez. Anybody who was dropped by Maxie Rosenbloom might be a good candidate.

I saw Curry fight Colin Jones,he didnt use foot work to avoid punches ,stood right in front of Jones and countered the hell out of him,I wouldnt call Curry a mover.

Early in his career, Curry won an easy decision in a match refereed by Mercante. (I think it was against Curtis Ramsey, but it may have been Adolfo Viruet.) Don outboxed his opponent easily, but he was dancing so much that Mercante stopped the action, pulled him aside, and asked him to attack more aggressively. (This is a spectator sport, after all.) Curry complied with Mercante, and the audience went home pleased. That stuck in my mind ever since, because of how easily he was able to do it. I confess I didn't see him against Colin Jones. (I only watched Jones in his two contests with McCrory.)

Lorenzo Zanon had a pretty bad one. Gerry Cooney wasn't very good at taking punches to the temple. Louis went down from shots that most people would just shrug off. He was up right away though. Patterson seemed to go down easy too.

I wouldn't call it a mediocre shot. But the difference with Morrison was that he was a moving target in their fight while Moorer for whatever reason felt the need to be macho out there and fight George flat footed, which definitely was a bad idea. Although it was a shocking surprise at the time, looking back on it now it was almost inevitable that Foreman would connect with one sooner or later.

A closer study will show peak Donald Curry to be a much more straight forward fighter than people thought he would eventually be. Against his best opponents he wasn't running at all. The Starling rematch, McCrory, Jones, he stood there and fought. He actually stalked LaRocca. I thought for sure he'd end up a mover but alas he didn't.

Years ago i mentioned in here the Benitez chin was glass and people near fell over. I know i'm right on this one, and thanks for the reinforcement. Bruce Curry also had him up and down like a yoyo.

It was a good shot, maybe worthy of a knockdown, but watch it again.

I just cannot believe that Moorer could not rise from that.

Bruce Seldon. Terrry Norris had a questionable jaw. Breland's chin was so so. Junior Jones. Courage Tshabalala.

Now that's a pretty common answer!
