I have Dempsey Willard 43 mins Dempsey Brennon, 7 rounds of 12. Dempsey Carp, runs a hour, lots of training footage. Dempsey Gibbions, 15 rounds. Dempsey Firpo. Dempsey Tunney 1, 8 rounds plus ring intros and other stuff Dempsey Tunney 2 complete. Dempsey Sharkey complete. Plus 33 mins of Dempsey footage, and him sparing with Jack McAuliffe, the former lightweight great.
I think you're probably just better off doing a series of google and yahoo searches, as well as checking out e-bay and amazon. I don't know what you'll find there but you're bound to come across something. I would personally be leary of local sports memorabilia stores and shops. They tend to overcharge a bit, when it comes to things like old videos, collecting cards, etc.
The Willard, Gibbions, Carp, and Tunney II fights were pretty easy to pick up. I did the rest in a series of trades.
Dempsey1238,, There is a collector out there who claims to have Dempsey/Greb sparring...I am wondering what the footage is he is considering that...There is a very short clip during the Firpo footage where it states "Dempsey is sparring with a middleweight" it is problably 10-15 seconds...I thought Greb sparred with Dempsey for the Miske fight??? Is there any other footage that may look like Dempsey and Greb?
Well the collector wont give it up. I ask him. As for the middleweight, that is were BIG Fights relly screw things up. That is relly some footage of Tommy Loughran vs Jack Dempsey. Now the Firpo fight shows only a few sconds of the fight. If you get the longer version of that sparing, you get to see Loughran out box, out jab, and tied Dempsey up. That footage is from Dempsey Tunney 1. My guess is Big fights needed some sparing footage and nab it off of the Dempsey Tunney fight.
Well, Only he knows I suppose. If he is not going to share it or so, his choice. I not going to lose any sleep over it.
