For years I've been thinking that there is absolutely no point in wearing a sweat suit until you have to dehydrate yourself in the final hours before a weigh in because when you drink water, the weight goes straight back on again. If that is the case then why do we constantly see boxers like Hatton wearing sweat suits throughout the entirety of their camp?
You were right, there isn't much reason at all. They may be doing it for the camera's, to add a "Rocky IV" sensation, or he may have trouble warming up without one.
They get warmer faster and keep warmer for longer. They would sweat more which is better for losing weight.
In fact, he'll overheat and his performance will drop at some point unless he takes it off. No. Unless we're talking water weight.
tbh i have only seen hatton wearing one long before a weigh in and he was sweating litres so i thought he must be testing how much water weight he had and where he was with his weight, kind of like a pre weigh in tester as i said hatton was sweating buckets so i dont think he was doing a warm up, i have never heard of them being uised to warm up quicker, warms ups should be done very gradually so i dont know the thread starter means weeks before a weigh in when losing water is going to leave you ****ed i have only seen hatton doing this guys so if anyone has seen anyone else do it please let me know, i really think its either of these 2 things 1. testing his weight after water cutting 2. very badly misinformed, this is very unlikely but i have read a lot of things about hattons weights training and supplement intake which raised a lot of eyebrows
I dress warmer during warmup, then slowly disrobe to maintain a preferred body temperature, all the while drinking water like a fish. To me it feels like once I break a sweat I am in 'workout mode' and everything comes easier. Like "breaking the ice" so to speak.
can't understand that. I see guys down my gym, title level pros, wear them for the entirety of the work out. If it was only to warm up then surely they would take it off after that seeing as it can take alot out of you in a training session.
its because most people are ill informed, they believe the sweat suit makes them train harder, hell the manufacturers even sell it as a product to tone up and lose weight faster.
I used to wear a sweatsuit for the first couple of weeksof training just to try and shed some unwanted water. After that I didn't wear one I just wore a heavy tracksuit for runs and then normal shorts and T-Shirt for the rest of training. Suprised nobody has highlighted the fact that Hatton was/is a fat **** and has much much more weight to shed than normal boxers. This fact added with the fact that he shreds weight with a sweatsuit at his age is adding to his lack of pounch resistance more and more as time goes by
