Henderson caught him with a great knee to the body just before he caught him in the guillotine, so I just assumed that the knee had winded Varner and he wasn't able to catch his breath and recover quick enough.

Henderson is great to watch but I detest all that religious bollocks he spouts, it just makes me want to see him get his ass kicked.

Have you ever been choked out? Heart don't have much to do with it.

Ive been choked out numerous times and have choked people out numerous times. Im not saying ok just let yourself go to sleep but atleast try to defend the choke and IMO Varner didnt appear to try and defend it thats what low level white belts do. I think highly of Jamie Varner but its just my opinion that he gave almost no effort into escaping that Guillotine. You work so hard for your Championship arent you going to work to keep it ?

Very true but I wouldn't go as far as questioning Varner's heart. Henderson had the choke as soon as he locked it up and I bet his grip is a whole lot tighter than anyone in your BJJ class. Varner was on his way out immediately. Outside of attempting a slam, it was either tap or lights out.

Not only that but a guillotine can be a lot different than other chokes; it can crank the neck very hard and cut be more of a trachea choke/pain sub than most other chokes.

When Fedor uses the RNC variation that is more of a trachea/air choke people tap almost immediately because of the pain and possible damage.

I agree with you and didnt wanna come off as disrespectful to Varner or even yourself. Just agian its my belief that he should have tried alittle more but agian I didnt actually feel the choke myself. The slam though is an option I wouldve or atleast I say I would have because it can break the grip alittle. Speaking of taking chokes I wonder WTF Henderson has in himself that makes him look like his heads being yanked off but he doesnt even consider tapping.

No no no, just curious that you said you've both administered and been on the receiving end of chokeouts...were those in streetfights?

It's just that most real fights that I've witnessed or been involved in have ended on the feet (or, more precisely, with one person twitching on their back). Once you get me in a strong hold or on the ground period - my goose is cooked. Thankfully it only ever came to that a couple of times. Fast hands. :D

Na im not a streetfighter that crap is pointless. I practice BJJ at a school so of course ive have been tapped alot and made others tap alot. Trust me ive dished out a few Guillotines and felt them to among other things.

His massive head of hair probably helps. I keep my own hair long because I find its easier to slip out of holds.

Yeah I was going regularly for a while but I'm on hiatus because of money and school. I used to box too and I wrestled in high school. Nothins better than a good roll around though.
