Did anyone predict Cantwell would win this fight? Whoever won points on that in the MMA prediction thread, kudos.

exactly, but its not like Cantwell is more experienced

(held the belt so long, this was his first defense wasn't it?) thats what the announcer just said

Good interview from Stann. He's a cool dude. He just needs to learn more than how to throw a huge right hand.

Cantwell has a few more tools, but he's a pretty limited fighter too. The LHW division in the WEC is really, really weak because anyone of merit is in the UFC already.

I should probably include Condit also.

TKD gyms are quite expensive as well. Also, in TKD you have a lot more gear to buy, not to mention the travel. The names lately in tkd have been very hispanic, asian and black (talking uisa teams here).

I think it might be because for some reason mma appeals to white subculture.

anyways, as far as the kicks thrown I really think the guy who lost the last fight should have been more light on his feet and rolled with the kicks more. like most mma fighters he just kind of freezes and takes them with his guard up.

Yeah, I think Condit is polished enough to put a real dent in the welterweight division in the UFC.

The guys in the lower weight classes are pretty good. Faber, like you mentioned, and Miguel Torres, at 135. The lightweights are solid but nothing spectacular. Paulo Fihlo on steroids would be a hell of a fighter at 185, but drug testing has put an end to his hype. And then there's the LHW division, which is devoid of any talent.

Flash knockdown from a punch to the back of the ear, not a good stoppage at all in my opinion.

Miguel Torres is definitely the real deal. Would love to see him fight Faber.

Similar to the Liddell/Rampage stoppage, where he went out for a few seconds then woke right back up. It was probably a bit premature, but the man was unconscious (even if for a brief second), so I don't have a huge problem with it.

Yeah, Torres is a really fun fighter. Faber would have a big weight and strength advantage if they fought. Torres is a really scrawny guy.

You're correct - but if Torres could put on the weight properly, his height/reach and general length would give Faber problems.

I can't complain about the last stoppage. Yeah - it could have gone on longer - but the result was probably going to be the same - just much more brutal ten seconds later.
