"Yeah, for us, the reason we’re in Las Vegas, we’re having a look at the winner (Martinez). We’d love to fight the winner; there’s a lot of other stuff that has to happen. There’s big talks about a fight with [Gennady] Golovkin we’re keen about as well. At this stage, we’re definitely looking at Martinez. I’m pretty happy with whatever happens. We have lots of people knocking on the door, lots of options. We have to take our time and make the right decision. That’s all I want".

"I guess my message to people is I’m still as hungry now as I was before I went to Germany the first time and before I won any titles. I’m still very, very hungry. I’ve got two titles now so that gives us a lot more bargaining power but I’m still willing to fight people as long as management says that’s the right thing to do, the right move. I’m willing to fight anybody. We’re really happy to be in this position but, at the same time, I want more titles and I want to fight the best".

I don't doubt Geale wants to fight the best, unfortunately with these things it's the people pulling the strings behind the scenes that **** it up sometimes

I don't think it's a case of his management ****ing it up at all. They know he's now at the top end of his division and any fight against the best is a risky fight for Geale (and vice versa) so they are just trying to maximise his earnings while increasing his profile on the world stage. If he can hold on to 2 belts until march 2013 then I think he's in for some big money fights agaunst big name - and big risk fighters.

i think he is seen as the weaker champion, wich could work well to get the big fights, it seems he steps up to the occasion all the time

That lack of respect from the other champs sure should help Danny get fights and hopefully have others taking him lightly when they do meet. Best thing with Geale is he genuinely wants to fight the best. He is not just doing the lip service.

He's been written off as the weak link in both title fights, and come up trumps in both:deal

Any other fighter who goes to Germany and puts in his performance against the champ would have lost on the cards. Gary Shaw did a great job with regards to having unbiased judges.

Geale may want to fight Martinez but Martinez has no interest in him. Golovkin wants a piece of him, make that fight happen. Then he can be the genuine no.2 in his division.

gotta get paid well in this position.

it can be tough getting good cash if u don't have the belts.

so make the most of it just in case.

Twice? More than Gary Shaw at play there. If Martinez (with his hand broken atm) has no interest, then GGG all the way. Geale presents a set of new problems to GGG. Proska was over powered but kept coming forward, perfect for a monster like GGG. Geale possesses the movement from hell and fitness that takes fighters to places they have never been.
This would be a one of the Great fights.

Geale must make hay while the sun shines. He won't hold the titles for ever. Nobody does.
