1. Vanes Martirosyan will be taking on Jorge Michi Munoz on March 7 in the opening bout on Versus. Munoz is the fighter that was rumored to be fighting John Duddy before Walid Smichet was brought in. Looks like a solid guy, nice record -- lost a twelve round decision to Joey Gilbert in his only loss. 2. March 13 on Versus will be Tye Fields vs. Josue Blocus and Urbano Antillon against Bobby Pacquaio in the opener. 3. Richard Gutierrez will likely be the main event for the Feb. 22 ESPN2 main event. No opponent yet. Yuriorkis Gamboa is in the opening bout. There is not site yet for the card. UGH. LOL 4. Marcos Ramirez has pulled out of his Feb. 29 ESPN2 main event because he suffered an on the job injury (I believe he is a firefighter). They have had talks, although not lately, about televising the Bute-Joppy bout but the Bute camp is asking for more money than is in the allotted budget for ESPN2 cards. It's Bob Arum's show. He can put whoever he wants on it. To the best of my knowledge, Versus has no say in the matter.
Guiterrez is tough I'd like to see him in with someone competitive that night. Gamboa on the opener makes that a nice card unless the opponents are totally overmatched. It would be nice to see Bute and Joppy on Espn. Fights a mismatch but I'd like to see more of Bute, not too mention this whole Espn and Canada marriage. Antillon and Bobby Pac is a nice Versus opener. Fields again? Come on ole Bob get over this freakshow already. I'm not familiar with this Blocus guy so I don't know what he brings but based on Fields past comp I doubt he is a big threat at all. Top Rank has a deep roster yet they keep feeding us this Tye Fields b.s. If he insists on putting him on the air than he needs to match him tougher. I lose all interest in Versus' cards when its Fields against another no-hoper. Oh well, atleast its not Fields-Koval II.
