the rules are that you make the weight at the weigh-in. Not before, not after, and it's ALWAYS been like that in boxing.
Hmm in fact, the IBF rules about the 2 weigh-ins is fair IMHO. It prevents fighters to be too much overweight on fight night, like Gatti-Gamache (RIP). I agree with you though that too many fighters fight in a weighclass they don't belong, but I don't think Brinkley is one of them. The mismatch here is about the overall quality of the fighters, not much about size (even though there IS a good difference in size). About "places" where we can watch the fight live, anybody will come back with something?
Yes but back in the day the weigh ins would be just before the fight and not a day before. That´s the difference. Sorry when two guys weighing in at the cw limit in the morning of the fight they aren´t smws.
