Not sure if this thread has been made before but... Do you think the weigh in should be the night of the fight so fighters dont balloon 20 lbs over the limit the night of the fight?
YES. But the commissions thought it would be safer to alow guys to rehydrate their bodies. It's a double-edged sword because either way, there is a serious problem.
Dude. The weigh in is the night before for a reason. If fighters can't make weight and they have to cancel the fight it gives some time for that.
Yes but with the average length of a training camp now a fighter should know far in advance of fight night whether or not they can make the weight.
The main reason it was done was to allow the fighters more time to re-hyrdate their bodies and make it safer for them.
