I am somewhat new to the boxing game but have been having problems choosing a weight class. I'm 6'4" and when in top shape weigh about 185. The extra 10 pound loss to Light heavyweight would almost kill me and at 200(cruiser weight) I'm not as lean as i should be and feel like opponents would be much more bulky than myself. I guess its just my big frame that makes me look so skinny at 185. Any Advice from some vets?

Fight in the 200lb weight class at 185. Your height is more than alright for it, so as long as you have a decent chin you'll be fine at 200. You'll likely have a speed, stamina, and workrate advantage.

PS I'm not a vet, but this is just common sense territory here lol.

haha thanks for the advice, thats what i was leaning towards. I just look at David Haye in the heavy's fighting people 30 pounds heavier and using his speed and cardio to win the bout!(except Wladamir)

The weight class is 178 so if you can't drop those 7 pounds and decide to fight in the 201 class instead it'll give you plenty of room to do some quality, compound strength training without worrying about extra pounds put on. At your height you'll still be taller than most in the 201 class. Just get in your best shape and fight wherever you fall at is good advice.
