Lets take the Margarito vs Pac fight for example. This fight was a SWW fight which is 148lbs - 154lbs. Now the fight was contracted that neither fighter can weigh in no higher than 150lbs at the weigh in but was able to hydrate to whatever weight afterwards. Now Margarito came into the fight weighing 163lbs which means Pac really faced a full fledged MW. Just because Margarito wasnt able to come in at the SWW limit of 154 does NOT mean he didnt weigh in as a SWW. Now many Pac haters will say that Pac drained Margarito, but who's fault is it really? The guy who was fighting at his correct weight, or the guy who dehydrates himself in order to cheat the This content is protected class This content is protected ? If anything, the one who got cheated at the scales was Pac being that Margarito manupilated his weight so that he can fight at a smaller weight class while coming into the fight an entire weight class above the weight class that the fight was sanctioned for. Now i'm just using this fight as an example of how This content is protected classes This content is protected and catchweights are really bullshiit, and why they should go back to same day weigh-ins. If a fighter wants to damn near kill himself in order to cheat the scales and fight at a lesser weight than what he's suppose to be fighting at, then fuk it. They know the risks. I'm tired of hearing "oh such and such weight drained such and such", yet the fighter who was supposeably weight drained came into the fight with a 15lb weight advantage. It just doesnt make sense.
