guzman would kill himself getting at 126 pounds now. he is even bigger than pac rehydrating to 148 when he fought soto at 130. it is not easy to move up in weight as what these guys do. it takes special fighters like floyd and pac to move up in weight multiple times and still dominates/beats naturally bigger opponents. not everyone can do it.
The names I put in each division are rushed and partly guesswork, just giving an overview. If he was at 148 rehydrated than he could fight at 140, killing yourself and severally dehydrating to make an artificial weight is unhealthy and wrong. Put him in with the the 140’s.
Actually Hearns is a 6 divison champion, but I agree there's too many weight classes and too many belts...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Hearns The first man to win six (6) world titles in six (6) different boxing divisions: (1999-04-10): from 147 to 154 to 175 to 160 to 168 to 190(200). The first ever champion to be considered a Sextuple Champions in boxing.
I agree with your system, but to be honest, the main problem is the 4 sanctionning bodies, not the weight classes. Although your system is pretty good.
Actually the original weight limit in the middleweight division was 160 lbs, in the good ol' Jake LaMotta-Sugar Ray Robinson era, so the super middleweight is a cut down from the light heavyweight division. It would be great if they brought those old weight limits back but keeping the current cruiserweight limit of 200 lbs for smaller heavies.
I guess Tito's victory over DLH never happened either as well as PBF's victory over Castillo(PBF/Castillo 1) Wether or not you agree with it, those wins are in the books and thereby official. Now we can sit here and argue about the legitimacy of all those 6-div. champs but it's safe to say the WBU and the IBO are "minor" titles thereby making DLH the only "legit" 6 div champ.
