People aren't commenting on the poor shape Ortiz came in. He rehydrated to 164 which is 17 pounds. As I said about Margarito and other Pac opponents, weight-drained fighters are sluggish and ineffective. The difference is Pac's management forces opponents to catchweights if they want a pay day. Ortiz brought this on himself.

Floyd doesn't have one punch KO power like that. Ortiz was more than happy to lose the way he did. Ortiz didn't protest at all! Ortiz saved himself a worse beating than the weight-drained Margarito took from Pac.

Dummy, Ortiz got his ass kicked He came in at 147 the most he ever weighed in for a fight get your facts togeather, the Berto fight was the secound most weight he came in on and that was 145 1/2 so don't give the old weight drained story. :hi:

Here's a clue look up the word rehydrated in the dictionary if you know what a dictionary is.

He was in great shape, it just would be beneficial to himself to move to 154 after this fight, I don't know how long his body can take cutting such drastic weight.

He might have been weight drained. Any time a welterweight gains that much weight (17 lbs, about 12% of your body weight from the day before), they definitely put yourself at risk for being drained.

That being said, Ortiz didn't lose because he was weight drained. He wasn't slower than usual, the fight didn't go far enough to test Ortiz's stamina at all. He didn't throw enough punches, but I think that's due to Mayweather's ability to counter (and boy did he counter Ortiz).

Excuses aside, Ortiz is simply not on Floyd's level. Hate him or love him, he knows what he's doing in the ring.
