He is 5'10 fighting at 140...do you think weight draining is part of the cause of his punch resistance?
Im just throwing out a simple question. I am the same height and could never imagine weighing 140. Could this be the possible cause of his punch resistance?
Prescott was at 135 I think? Anyway, I don't think it hurt him really. He didn't look drained at the weigh-in. He was 148 on the night. Out of interest anyone know what Garcia weighed on the night?
Overtraining will be the main target for excuse this time around. Khan might have a valid point "IF" they decide to go that route. (Same thing kinda happened to Victor Ortiz of sorts) IMO, The strategy was all wrong... They abandoned the "Kangaroo" style as they say which is what made Khan most effective & Protected his chin factor. Toe to toe ain't for Amir. Khan's heart & Warrior should never be questioned tho.
No. Height doesn't always determine what weight you must be. He's a tall, relatively skinny guy. Low bone density, maybe. I don't know. But what I do know is that he was in reasonable condition. He got hurt as badly as he did because he had a **** defence that allowed him to get countered by a decent puncher.
Garcia is the same height as Khan and so is Peterson they are fine. I think Khan has very low body fat going into this fight like he did against Prescott. He focused on body building instead of road work.
Nah, it's his chin that's hurting Khan. That, and a lack of defense when hurt. Look back at Tommy Hearns when he was fighting welterweight. The guy was 6' 1" and came in at 147 and his chin was fine until he met Sugar Ray Leonard then moved up to Middleweight and got iced by Hagler and Iran Barkley. With the Barkley fight being a fluke lucky punch KO in the 3rd round. Two of his 3 KO's were by future HOF boxers. Not so with Khan. It can only get worse for him at higher weight.
No, i believe his ****in chin is the source of his problem. Remember... Angel Garcia instructed his to be "crispy" and that too had an affect on Khan.
