I know some or most of you will say that I don't need it and it's not neccesary but I bought one. Large O2 600 calories in one serving. My problem is that since I started training really hard and runing 3 miles 3-4 times a week I am loosing weight. I am one of those people that have a hard time gaining any significant weight> I have a fast metabolism and I think that is the problem. Every time I eat big meal the journey ends up in the bathroom. So I bought weight gainer. I am 185-190 pounds My goal is 199 (cruiseweight). During that period that I was training hard I also ate a lot (usually 6 meals a day) plus protein shakes. Do you guys have anything against weght gainers? I read reviews and N-large seems like the best choice.
food food food I eat food. But I just can't eat that much. I eat a lot trust me. I talked to my trainer and he wants me to fight at cruiseweight. I am 6'3" 185 So I want to weight around 199. My body type is perfect for cruiseweight I just need to fatten up a little and with the training that I do it's almost impossible. I also go to school and work 27 hours a week so I am almost always on the go. I always eat big breakfast lunch big dinner some snack and supper.
I think I would feel weak to be honest with you but it's possible. I would have to lose more body fat and I would look really skinny with my height 6'3"
As long as your training hard. To gain some weight eat a peanut butter and bannana sandwich with a glass of milk before you go to bed. It is cheap and will put the weight on. You don't need to worry about fat gain with the schedule it sounds like that you keep.
Talk to your trainer about dropping the jogs for sprints. It will help you for explosiveness anyway. It won't make a huge diff. as you aren't running extremely far at 3 miles or too often, but it will help and especially if you work a diet for gaining around it.
Nope. Chances are you are doing plenty of cardio, if you are training regularly, rope skipping etc... Running is notorious for eating up the weight, which is good if you want that, but it's benefits can be found in other things. Every boxer should be doing some form of sprints anyway.
Remember guys muscle maturity doesnt happen until your late 20`s early 30`s and beyond. If his fairly young he may find his hard gainer and his metabolism will be much quicker.
oh I didnt know that in amateur boxing cruiserweight limit is 189lbs. I am gonna start competing soon and trainer told me you will fight at cruiserweight so I assumed that I had to go above 195 lbs. So I quess I am perfect for that weight division in amateurs.
haha, still do sprints. Seriously. I do them on a rotation, one day jogging, one day sprints. One day off a week for rest. That isn't always convenient for people. Some combine it with their jogging. Before or after their jog. And it can also be done while you are jogging. If you are jogging on a road that has telephone poles...you can work out a system...like say jog 3 or 4 poles, sprint the next, repeat. It is just that it helps add an element of explosiveness to that stamina you are seeking.
