You know what? Bradley's handlers must be more immature than Castillo, how can you gamble with a man who has been having weight problem for the last 3 years?
They basically screwed their fighter wasting his time, and I said that right then when the fight was announced, horrible matchmaking.
The fact that he made weight against Hatton doesn't mean s**t, they were supposed to know.

 Chico didn't get desroyed by Clottey?

That was a one-sided destruction of a great fighter.

All because he moved up too much in weight.

Bombs that dropped and stopped lightweights had little effect on Clottey.

Now it looks like the same will happen to Castillo.

He'll move up to welter and be pummeled by the first top 10 guy he faces.

I know this isn't an hatton thread but he gets a load of abuse for his out of training behaviour, but he always makes 140.

I wouldn't blame Bradley's handlers, unless they had a better or equal offer that they turned down. JLC had made weight in his last fight and Bradley would have made a nice payday in that fight. Plus, a win over a faded Jose is still looks good on the record. I am not sure they should be expected to know that Jose wasn't going to make weight again. The fault for this is on JLC.

absolutely his last fight was at welterweight. I think he thought oh brother i have to come down in weight again i won't bother my ass.

    he made 135 in 2005(corrales 1)
    he made 138 in 2006(reyes)
    he made 140 in 2007(hatton,ngoudjo)
what is his problem with making 140 now:patsch

Can't he just get an enema and lose the last few lbs. I don't know, maybe it's his way of ending his career but having an "excuse" to do it.

OMG, the guy was 3lbs over... Have him run a couple miles in a sauna suit to lose a lb or so and take the rest off a percent of the purse he would get. Easy enough. Even if he did make weight, he would bloat up to 150 or so by fight time so what's the difference. Fighters have done it in the past, Castillo just doesn't want it.

I feel really sorry for Castillo.
The guy really needs the money.
I hope he doesn't retire homeless.
