weight loss at an older age, a question for those who know.

    if a 20 year old lad weighs 15 stone & needs to shed 2 stone, his dad also weighs 15 stone & needs to lost 2 stone.
    if they both live the same lifestyle, do the same job, eat the same diet & do the same workout as often as each other will the son lose the weight quicker due to age & if so, is it much quicker or just slightly?

    i would assume the son would lose quicker, resting metabolism is probably higher...

    Thats assuming they are both the same fat %.

    The question is why does it matter? If you're the older gentleman in this example are you not going to bother trying if people tell you the younger lad will lose the weight faster?

    I don't know why people ask such questions.

    yes, but it depends on their genetics as to how fast and what the difference will be. bit of a tough one to quantify
